ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama graduating from Ramsay High School in 1990, started college at Samford University, and graduated from UAB with a degree in Elementary Education in the Spring of 1996. In 1996, I started teaching at a small inner-city private school until 2000. From 2000-2007, I taught third, fifth, and was a reading and writing coach in a local inner-city school system. After our second child was born, I took 4 years off teaching before coming back to teaching in 2011. Currently, I teach 3rd grade in a suburban school system in the area. I got married in 2000, and now have three children, three cats, and two hermit crabs.
