I have been teaching for 22 years, most of which was done in a Special Education classroom. I have also taught ESL, Physical and Health Education and Art. As part of my teaching experience I have mainly taught, Language, Mathematics, History, Geography, social and organizational skills
When I teach I like to be well prepared so that there is no doubt in my mind about what I am doing. I usually produce most of my teaching materials as I believe that students should be given handouts and resources that are visualy attractive, useful, easy to read and to the point. Tests that I give to the students are designed on the computer using self-created templates that include clipart and interesting fonts. I am convinced that this makes them less intimidating for students and therefore lead to increased level of achievement. I believe in making teaching and learning fun, always finding ways to help students relate learning to what they already know. Students should be encouraged to learn through problem solving and hands on activities as much as it is possible. My classroom is usually well organized, a place where every student is safe, respected, and treated as important and unique.
