I am sure this is a great product...unfortunately, upon purchasing the unit, it will not open on my computer because it's a zipped file. Hoping to solve this problem soon as I would love to access the materials!

Summer Lee (TpT Seller)
This was a fantastic resource for our Charlotte's Web novel study. My only wish is that I had a teacher lesson plan (pacing guide) to go with it. There were some things I didn't use because I realized too late that it fit in with what we were talking about.

This Little Piggy Reads (TpT Seller) re: Charlotte's Web Book Study Unit
Is this a complete unit or do I need to add extra items with it? I teach 3rd Grade in TX and we will begin reading Charlotte's Web tomorrow. I have never done a book study with 3rd Graders before so I am nervous about having all of the pieces prior to beginning.

I tried to make this unit as complete as possible! After making the unit, all I literally had to do was copy the pages for my students to use/respond to. Each chapter has a pre-reading activity. Some involve vocabulary, some prediction, and others reflections or opinions about the story so far. Following the reading, I would have students complete a reading reflection, which also includes questions to help students think about what we've read that day. Some of the reflections are graphic organizers, some short answer, some making lists. I also added vocabulary cards that you can use that have the definitions that you can use for the pre-reading vocabulary. In addition to the pre-reading and reading reflections, there are several graphic organizers, flip books, and a list of extensions that can be done by chapter. Several of the ideas listed in the extensions I have shared on my blog. I hope this answers your question! It was my attempt after 3 years of reading Charlotte's Web to have an all in one resource that requires little prep work compared to what I have scrounged together in the past!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am currently in my third year of teaching second grade. I absolutely love to watch my children learn and grow, especially when I see that "light bulb" turn on! I love having fun and try to make even the most boring of subjects fun. I have found that's the only way that I will gain and capture their attention! I have also had the pleasure of being a mentor to a new teacher.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I try to present material in many different ways to help accommodate the learning styles of all of my students. Each year as a new set of students arrive, there is always an adjustment period where I must figure out what works best for my students. That is the one thing I have learned most from teaching, just because the strategy works best with one group of students, doesn't mean that it will work well for the next. I think that is what makes me love my job so much, I love change, and as a teacher, things are ALWAYS changing!
