TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I come from a family of educators and am married to an educator. You could say I was born to be a teacher. Also, I am the very proud mother of four "children", ages 18-24, and my husband and I will become empty-nesters in another month. Yikes! I consider myself to be a life-long learner and my varied teaching experiences are proof of that! I have been teaching for 27 years, teaching grades 3, 4, & 5 self-contained, Gifted grades 1-6, was a Technology Specialist/Integrated Technology teacher for grades 1-6, and was a Teacher Technology Integrator at the district. Four years ago my principal asked me to go from fifth grade to teach kindergarten since I had Early Childhood Certification. It was one of the greatest moves I've ever made! I LOVE my little ones!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Hands-on learning with a focus on an integrated curriculum and real-life applications and problem-solving.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Teacher of the Year, 1981 Teacher of the Year, 1995 Selected by National Geographic in 2004 to attend a Teacher Expedition to the Channel Islands (off Calif. coast).

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BS.Ed - Elementary Education & Early Childhood Education, FSU MS Ed - Elementary Education, UCF MS Ed - Educational Technology, UCF Gifted Certified JASON Project Trainer, 2005
