Hi,
We have met as a district and we are strongly considering going forward with EDM in kindergarten. Would you be willing to provide me with some kind of contact information, maybe a phone number or personal e-mail that I could pass along to our district director or instruction. She then could touch base with you reguarding the purchase of these materials for our district's kindergarten teachers. We are so excited about what you have done! Here is my email so that you can contact me directly:
Susan.Tawile@gpschools.org
Thanks so much!

Hello,

I teach Everyday Math and I was wondering if this journal is something that you created independently or if this is a product that can be purchased from Everyday Math? I would love to use this in my classroom but my principal does not always allow copying but if I could get this from Everyday Math she may purchase it. If you could let me know. Thank you!

I LOVE your Everyday Math Unit 1 and 2 Journals. Do you have Units for sections 3-8?I would love to purchase these. Will you be posting these units? Our district will be using EM for kindergarten next year, and I am sure many other teachers would love to purchase these as well. I am going to be attending a meeting to duscuss plans for next year the second week in April. Could you please let me know, so I could give them more information? Other teachers may want to purchase these units. I will be showing them your units 1 & 2, and would love to tell them you will be planning for other units. Thank you so much!

Hi SusanJenni!
I have had so many comments about the EM Journals! I am so happy that I was not the only teacher who wanted "more" hands-on work from this curriculum! I made Units 1 and 2 at the start of the school year. A month into the 1st semester, I was pulled out and transferred to our Jr. High to teach math. So, I did not continue the series. I do plan to finish the series over the summer however, because I know a good number of teachers were using these units and were getting great results! So, to answer your question: Yes, I do plan on finishing the series. I am going to try to complete it all over the summer and get units 3-8 completed. You should be able to implement the EM Journals for the whole Kindergarten year starting next school year! I will get on this as soon as school lets out for the summer! :)

Greetings! Originally, I had only planned on creating the journals through section 4. After section 4, students begin completing regular activities in the My First Math Book. However, my students and I are loving the journals so much that I may go ahead and create journals for each section in the program.

Hi. Does this packet address the letters in the same order as the HWT Program student book?

So sorry for the delayed response! The letters in the Activity Book are presented in alphabetical order. I thought this would be more convenient for homeschooling parents and for teachers who want to copy single pages. I introduce the letters in the HWT-preferred order and just have students turn to the correct page. Also, there are a few review pages that practice letters in the HWT-style way, such as Frog Jump Capitals, Diver Letters, Magic C letters, etc.

So sorry for the delayed response! Originally, I had only intended on creating the journals through section 4 (the first half of the EM program). Does the HWT activity book have pages to practice 1 uppercase letter at a time? Likewise, does it have separate lowercase pages? Thanks!

So sorry for the delayed response! The HWT Activity Book provides practice for uppercase and lowercase letters at the same time. There are no individual practice pages for the two letter formats. I did this on purpose. My students seem to benefit from practicing the two letter formats at the same time, as they can better associate a capital letter with its lowercase partner.

So sorry for the delayed response! I do not currently have any materials for cursive practice. I have the HWT cursive fonts, but I do not work with students past 2nd grade and therefore I have not created any cursive handwriting practice materials. If this is something that you are interested in, I can add it to my list of future projects!

So sorry for the delay in responding! The HWT Font is from a company called Educational Fontware. They sell a single license that will allow individual buyers to use all of their fonts. They offer any font you can imagine, from Zaner-Bloser, to D'Neilian, HWT, as well as fonts used by popular educational publishers and textbook programs. Check them out!!
