I found your EDM resources for unit 1 and unit 2 . . . do you have resources for the other EDM units.
Thanks.

Hello, Mr. Hutchens! I read through the other questions before I decided to send this question. I can not imagine being moved like that. Yuck! I teach K and I love it. Sounds scary, but they must know you can handle those children! Do you have any idea if or when or will you have any more of the EDM units besides 1 and 2? They look great and are just what the children need? We are in unit 6 now. I would like to see if my school would buy a set for our 6 kindergarten classes. They are all about data and I think this would help reinforce concepts taught as well as let parents know what we are doing in math.

Thank you,
Sarah Keane

Which HWT books is this correlated to? Does it cover the same things as the workbooks K through 2nd (up until cursive)? Does it have the progressive line change from wider to smaller?

I am putting together a generic curriculum map for new first grade teachers, and I include activities that go with the standards... August's guide is Kindergarten review, and a lot of alphabet activities and resources. Yours is part of a list for potential buyers to check out and use. I returned to 1st this past year after 20+ years in higher grades, and I spent COUNTLESS hours on line looking for resources, so I figured I wanted to help others who might be in those shoes... that lead me to become a TpT seller. I hope to have this one up in the next couple of days, check me out! Thank you!

That sounds like a wonderful idea and I'm sure many teachers would benefit from that! I was just moved last year from Kindergarten and placed into teaching junior high and high school math! It has been a process finding recourses that work! So, I know firsthand what you are going through! Best of luck to you!

Everyday Math was introduced to our whole county! I have a BS in Mathematics as well as Elementary Ed., and I personally love the EM curriculum. They go far beyond teaching the rules, drills, and rote memorization and really dive deep into the math and help explain why, when, where, and how. At the elementary level, it is showing great results. I am hoping that students entering junior high and high school will have a better foundation!

Hi,
We have met as a district and we are strongly considering going forward with EDM in kindergarten. Would you be willing to provide me with some kind of contact information, maybe a phone number or personal e-mail that I could pass along to our district director or instruction. She then could touch base with you reguarding the purchase of these materials for our district's kindergarten teachers. We are so excited about what you have done! Here is my email so that you can contact me directly:

Hello,

I teach Everyday Math and I was wondering if this journal is something that you created independently or if this is a product that can be purchased from Everyday Math? I would love to use this in my classroom but my principal does not always allow copying but if I could get this from Everyday Math she may purchase it. If you could let me know. Thank you!

I LOVE your Everyday Math Unit 1 and 2 Journals. Do you have Units for sections 3-8?I would love to purchase these. Will you be posting these units? Our district will be using EM for kindergarten next year, and I am sure many other teachers would love to purchase these as well. I am going to be attending a meeting to duscuss plans for next year the second week in April. Could you please let me know, so I could give them more information? Other teachers may want to purchase these units. I will be showing them your units 1 & 2, and would love to tell them you will be planning for other units. Thank you so much!

Hi SusanJenni!
I have had so many comments about the EM Journals! I am so happy that I was not the only teacher who wanted "more" hands-on work from this curriculum! I made Units 1 and 2 at the start of the school year. A month into the 1st semester, I was pulled out and transferred to our Jr. High to teach math. So, I did not continue the series. I do plan to finish the series over the summer however, because I know a good number of teachers were using these units and were getting great results! So, to answer your question: Yes, I do plan on finishing the series. I am going to try to complete it all over the summer and get units 3-8 completed. You should be able to implement the EM Journals for the whole Kindergarten year starting next school year! I will get on this as soon as school lets out for the summer! :)

So sorry for the delayed response! The letters in the Activity Book are presented in alphabetical order. I thought this would be more convenient for homeschooling parents and for teachers who want to copy single pages. I introduce the letters in the HWT-preferred order and just have students turn to the correct page. Also, there are a few review pages that practice letters in the HWT-style way, such as Frog Jump Capitals, Diver Letters, Magic C letters, etc.

So sorry for the delayed response! The HWT Activity Book provides practice for uppercase and lowercase letters at the same time. There are no individual practice pages for the two letter formats. I did this on purpose. My students seem to benefit from practicing the two letter formats at the same time, as they can better associate a capital letter with its lowercase partner.
