cnfar re: Geometry Printables for K-2 Math Journals
I just purchased your item and was a little disappointed. I teach Kindergarten and there are really great pages geared toward Kinder, but I feel like a lot more were geared for older students. I was expecting something a little different. When I was on your blog, I was super excited to purchase a number of your products from the pictures I saw. I had to take a gamble since the preview was only a page for the geometry. I definitely do not feel that I got $7 worth of journal prompts to use in my room. I am a little hesitant to purchase any more of the journal printables labeled k-2. Do you have any packets geared towards Kinder only?

I am so sorry that you felt disappointed with your purchase. I make K-2 documents so that there are a variety of levels of work since some children are below level, on level and above level. I would be happy to send you another document of your choice for free (email me at kellikellikelli@hotmail.com and tell me which document). I believe the only Kdg document I have at the moment is K.CC, as most of my time is currently devoted to my new teaching job. But I hope to have more documents out soon : )

Hi!

I am a K teacher that LOVES your products. We are doing subtraction now, so I was wondering if you have a subtraction math journal product. If not, any plans for them? Thanks!!!!

Hello! Sorry I missed this message! It was the end of term time and everything seemed to go hazy for awhile during reports and parent teacher conferences.
I do plan on creating a subtraction product, similar to the addition one, but probably not until the summer. My new job has taken a crazy amount of time (English Coordinator for upper grades-so many novels to read and so much writing to grade!), so I don't think I will get to it until this summer : (

Thank you for your encouragement!

Snuffier re: How to use K-2 Journals
Hi, Kelli,
I love the ideas you're sharing! I'm in the US (Alaska); is there a notebook you've found here that works well for your journals and isn't too expensive? I bought some of your products and want to start using some of the ideas but haven't found a good notebook yet (I am a kdgn teacher). Also, do you have kids use Elmer's glue or glue sticks? Thanks!

Hi!! So happy to hear that you enjoy the products!!

The notebooks. Ohhh the notebooks. It's a problem. I have not found any books large enough (with the appropriate line size and not spiral). I have found perfect books (for cheap) in Australia, UK, and South Africa, but it's too expensive to ship.

So I created my own and had them first printed in China, then made an updated version and had them printed locally in Arizona (as I was living there at the time). I sold many books ($3/book), but then eventually found schools could not continue to buy them at this price.

I'm not sure why we don't have these books in the States...
If you have a print shop in your district, you could create your own books and get them printed that way? Or stick with spiral notebooks (or similar without the spiral), as I think that size works better.

I have used glue and gluesticks...glue in early kdg is a bit tricky, but I have found both are OK.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!

WOW! This is just what I have been looking for! Our county uses the enVision math series. We start Topic 5 (Money) this week. After that, we have two topics in mental math (addition and subtraction). Are you planning to provide journal activities for this aspect of the math curriculum? I sure hope so!!!

Thanks for leaving a comment! Mental math.........hmmmm, I intend to get to every part of math for K-2 at some point, I'm just very behind right now because of my current job. I will look into it : ) Glad you like the Money pack.

I just purchased two of your packets and have not had time to use them. I am eager to get started. I teach a first/second combination and I am really struggling. Do you think this idea will help me? I have little to no TA time during my instructional time and feel like my kids are "on their own" way too often.

Hi! Please email so we can chat about this--I have taught everything from kindergarten to fifth grade with this concept.....it works everywhere!! I have used this concept (mainly) in schools without a TA, so I know what it feels like to be on your own with a variety of levels in the class! info {at} portfolio advantage system {dot} com.....please tell me how I can help you get started.

Heidi Andre  (TpT Seller) re: Money Printables for 2nd Grade Journals:Part 1
Hi! I just have a question that I wasn't sure where to find the answer to...I have an excellent money activity that took me hours upon hours to create (DAYS)...but in order to post it on TPT, I'll need to recreate it using different money images. I originally just used the images from teacherscorner to do it since I was just using it in my own classroom. I just want to make sure that I do this the right way before spending SO much time putting it together, without having to worry about violating any copyrights. Can I take pictures of real money? Is there a good place to buy realistic clipart? If you could help me, that would be so great! I really want to get started on this TPT. It looks like such a great thing! I really appreciate it!

Hello Heidi! I bought money graphics from the 3AM Teacher.....images are very realistic looking. Just make sure you read her Terms of Use and then create your documents! Here is where you can buy her money clipart!
