I have been in education for 15 years. I taught for 3 years in the third grade, 7 years in the fifth grade, 2 years as middle/high school principal/curriculum director/A+ coordinator/MoVIP facilitator, and I have currently been instructing reading in the middle grades along with assessing curriculum. I have been instructing at the college level since 2006. I teach master's and specialist level admin and curriculum courses. I have a PhD in Philosophy (emphasis curriculum and instruction).
I place a strong emphasis on instructing from the facilitator point of view vs. being the center of instruction. I try to incorporate a variety of instructional strategies that meet the needs of multiple styles of learning. From the time my students step into my classroom until the time they go home; they are in a constant instructional mode. Every minute is valuable; as every student is important.
I was awarded Educational Professional of the Year by Cambridge (2009). I was awarded Who's Who Among American Educators (2001-2006).
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education, a Master's Degree in Education, a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership, and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction. I also have additional certifications in Pre-K thru 12th Administrative certification, middle school math, middle school social studies, and middle school communication arts certification. I am a MAP Regional 10 Senior Leader for the state of Missouri.
