I am a private tutor and homeschool supervisor working with all age children. My expertise is in English, Reading, & Writing, but I have also worked with students in social studies, history, literary history, and more. I especially enjoy working with students on improving their writing skills.
I like to SHOW students, rather than TELL, coming from my personal experience writing fiction. Although some things do require a degree of rote memorization, students learn best when they understand the reasoning behind a concept, such as how punctuation in a sentence should mimic normal human speech. I also like to get my students excited and genuinely interested in a work of literature or history, so I let them choose their reading lists (with guidance) and work with them.

I graduated high school in 2007 and went on to a baccalaureate program at College of Notre Dame of Maryland, which is now known as Notre Dame of Maryland University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English in 2011 and began writing and tutoring shortly after. I tutored in college and worked as a Teaching Assistant in a Literary Research class. During college I was also a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the international honor society for students of English, and acted as chapter co-president in my senior year. I presented my work at Sigma Tau Delta's annual conference two years in a row.
