What a great question! You can find many of the resources that you need to make products right here on TPT! Many teachers create clipart and digital resources that are fantastic for dressing up your original products. My advice would be to simply create materials that you would actually use with your students. Be creative. Be thorough and above all, be patient. As long as you offer a meaningful, attractive product, followers will come in time. Best of luck to you! Thanks for stopping by! =)

Hi! I am a Kindergarten teacher here in Texas. I have a question for you. Does your school use CSCOPE for curriculum? If so, how long? Our district just rolled it out for us to begin using it. I love it, but many of my colleagues are overwhelmed and do not like it at all. Did anyone on your faculty have the same problems? Can you tell me how your school overcame the issues? Of course these questions are assuming you do use it. I really appreciate any help you can give me.

I'm afraid they aren't editable. I've used this particular set of labels in my classroom, but printed them and wrote on them, as needed. Learning how to make editable PDF's is on my long list of things "to do"....I hope you are still able to use them. I really love this little set! Thanks for stopping by!

Hi, Grace! Thank you! The borders for each card are just simple autoshapes in Powerpoint formatted to glow. Most of my fonts are downloaded from KevinandAmanda.com, and I purchase the cutsie clipart from Scrappin Doodles. I believe there may be 1 on there from KPM Doodles too. Hope that helps some! Happy creating and teaching! =)

What was the process to become a certified K-12 Master Reading Teacher?
April 29, 2012 Report inappropriate comment
n/a
Tanya Dwyer  (TpT Seller)
It's an additional certification offered by the state. I went through training offered by our regional service center. We're part of ESC Region 12 out of Waco, TX. Check with your campus instructional coordinator or your region's training catalog for info and cost. It's a 96 hour course, well worth it. Part of the training also prepares you for the certification exam. ....working on ESL now! If it is deemed training that addresses an area of need for your district, they may elect to cover the cost of the training and testing for you as well! It's the equivalent of 12 graduate course hours. Happy Reading!

Yes, I get a lot of downloads of the free item, but even if people do not purchase the whole packet, your name is out there. Think about offering your freebie to Paul to put in the TPT Sunday Newsletter. This gives your store a great deal of exposure. To submit a product, just go to your dashboard, and it is the last item (the green checkmark) under Marketing and Promotion. Be sure to market a really good one, but also make sure to have your copyright on every page.

Scipi  (TpT Seller) re: Spring Things Literacy Skills
I saw your posting on the Sellers Forum page of Teachers Pay Teachers; so, I thought I would look at your freebie. Excellent freebie. You might think about offering part of it as free and then at the end of the freebie, mention that you have a complete unit and list the URL. Many of us on TPT use that marketing strategy.

You might think about adding a second page which is a directions or suggestions page. List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product. The only thing I would change is the font used in the student directions. Stick to fonts that students see everyday in books. Many sellers shy away from unusual fonts for the primary grades.

I know you teach primary; but, if you have time, I’d appreciate your input on my freebie listed below. It's for grades 3-4. You will notice that this freebie is part of a complete resource which I previously mentioned as a marketing strategy.

I am now your 23rd follower, and hope you will reciprocate at my store as well. http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/SciPi/Products

Welcome to TPT, and good luck with selling!

Thank you so much for your advice. I had begun adding both teacher directions and student directions, but didn't want anyone to feel insulted. It never occurred to me that they may NEED some direction in how to use the product. I was wondering...do you find that you have a lot of lookers that download the freebie for use, but without purchasing the complete packet? Does that kind of subside over time? Thanks again for your time and input! There is so much to think about, but this has been one amazing journey to begin....
