Funny story - The first week back to school a 2nd grade teacher and I both discovered we had purchased your product and had planned to use it that week! I teach 4th grade and as Area and Perimeter is something that we have popping up all year, I planned to do the lesson just as you have for that first week. Later in the year, I revisited it with the Cheese cracker sandwiches that come in vending machines for a different size. Now, at the end of the year, I think I may try to have them trouble-shoot how to do this activity with graham crackers and maybe even crackers that are round? I'm still playing with this idea, but anyhow...thank you for the great lesson and inspiration to keep it going.

I purchased your Algebra patterns packet. On the worksheet that has the rules, the fourth pattern is incorrect. It has 2, 12, 26, 54. It should be 5, 12, 26, 54. Otherwise it looks good!

My class has enjoyed doing this activity, but is there a way you can fix a card for me. Card 5 is using "yards" as measurement, but the answer card "o" is listed as "centimeters." This caused a small amount of confusion until we all agreed the numerical answer of 300 was correct - even though the unit was incorrect.

So I am feeling a little stupid today :) I just bought "Equation and Expression Cards" from your list. I didn't see directions or answers. Once I figure out exactly how it is supposed to work, I can fuigure out the answers no big deal.... But, I am not sure how it is supposed to work. The kids started using the small cards to create the equations to match the word sentences, but there was only one equal sign. So I figured we are doing it wrong. There was also cards that seem to be answers to the words.... I think I am being an airhead.... Help :) ~Kristin

The cards are organized with a page of expressions/equations in words, then a page of the same expressions/equations in "math language." I copy these front to back. Your students should use the small numeral/sign cards exactly as they were: They create the expression or equation with the cards, and then flip the card over to check their answer.
My kids usually put the small cards back and started over as they worked, so they did not need extra equal signs. If you would like more, I would be happy to edit the file. Let me know how it goes! I hope the kids have fun! Let me know if you have any other trouble.-Lauren

Exploring Elementary (TpT Seller) re: Nacho Math: Operations with Money
I just wanted to tell you that we used this product today and it was SO much fun! Tonight is the TOSTITOS® Fiesta bowl and our beloved KSTATE is playing in it! So since it was our first day back and I knew all of my kids would be hyped up about the game we actually made REAL nachos based on your activity! The students had $8.00 to spend to make their REAL nachos and then while they were eating them they were creating other combinations! So much fun! :)

I saw your store on the home page of Teachers Pay Teachers; so, I thought I would look at your freebie. Since you do not have many products yet, here are a few suggestions that might help you to better market your products.
Add a cover page for each of your products which can then be used as an attractive thumbnail to entice buyers. Yes, even for one page items. You might also add a second page which is a directions or suggestions page for the teacher. (How do use these? When? Etc.) List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product.
Use the footer to put the copyright symbol, your name and date of creation on EVERY page. Items, especially free ones, have been "stolen" from TPT and posted on other sites to be sold. You have to protect all of your creations. Also number your pages. Finally, unless you want your products revised (I do for my tests) save everything in a PDF format as it is harder to change.
It is important that we see what others are doing; so, feel free to look at any or all of my freebies listed below to gather some ideas. If you care to, a rating or any feedback you might have would be great.
