Students roll both die. They read the sentences separately and then decide which conjunction they can use to combine the sentences. Some sentences may become silly sentences during this activity :) hope this helps. Email me with further questions tattlingtotheteacher@gmail.com. Thanks!

I am actually not using Reading Street anymore so probably not! I did just find on my computer a packet for Pig in a Wig that was almost finished. I will probably finish that up and get that one posted. Other than that I have packets for Treasures first grade and this year we are making the jump to Journeys so I will be working on that. Sorry!

We use the Florida Edition of Treasures and it does not contain the Little Bear story. We have Blue Jay Finds a Way instead. It is about a blue jay and his pink elephant friend trying to find a way to the moon. The skills are the same in both stories. I was wondering if you could tweak this packet a little bit to represent the blue jay story.

I mostly focused on a space theme in this packet so it may work for you already. Without having the teacher manuel right in front of me I am weary about just changing the graphics and posting it under another name. I am not sure if the sight words/vocab/spelling are the same. If you want to email me the basic overview of the week from your Treasures series I wouldn't mind going through the packet and making sure it aligns, then changing graphics and posting for you. tattlingtotheteacher@gmail.com

Hi Laura- I love your work! However, I'm confused about the big differences between my Treasures units and yours. I didn't realize until I bought your unit 4 bundle pack that there are only 2 of the 5 weeks that have the same stories and high frequency words, and the phonics and spelling words are different. I teach in a small, Christian school in Minnesota-do you know if there are different versions of Treasures?

When we did this in class I put handfulls of different colored ornaments on my students tables and they got to choose how many ornaments made it on the tree. The most I had any student choose was 12. If they had less than 5 I encouraged them to choose a few more to make the graphing more effective! Hope your kids have as much fun as mine did!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
This is my fourth year as a first grade teacher. I have worked in inner city, rural and am currently in a suburban environment.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I am more of a hands-on teacher; very learner-centered. I am always finding new ways to differentiate and truly believe that each child has their own way of learning. I try to incorporate all types of learning styles when I am planning and teaching.
