Oh I have had the same thing happen to me! Once, I got so excited about a phonics unit that I purchased it, before reading that I had to have a $60 membership to Reading A-Z in order to use the packet. This bummed me out big time, and I understand how you feel. So I have an idea.... But really quickly, for other buyers reading this feedback, in the American Symbols description I wrote that this would be fine for the beginning of the year in second grade. This is true. If you teach in a low income area or have a lower class, this might be fine for your class at the end of second grade. The pages in the preview give a very good indicator of the reading level.
