Adding Ten Math Work Station ... I just love your layout, graphics, and colors. May I make a suggestion? You list this product as appropriate for 1st and 2nd grade levels, but as a 2nd grade teacher, I can't really use this beyond the 1st quarter of the school year. If you were to add to the product by increasing the numbers on the flowers, allowing addition and subtraction by 10s and 100s, it would provide different levels which then would truly span 1st and 2nd grades. So I realize this product is currently a freebie, but if you added the skill differentiation (plus a recording sheet), you could sell the larger packet while keeping the current product as a freebie/preview. (CCSS: Mentally add 10 or 100 to a given number 100–900, and mentally subtract 10 or 100 from a given number 100–900.) Just a thought coming from someone who would be interested in making such a purchase. Oh, one more thing: I really like that you've included an "I can" statement!

Edit: they've got copies on Amazon. I know the book was reprinted in recent years. Is it possible your bookstore looked up the original one? It was redone with a new cover. It's also available at Scholastic :). Hope this helps.

Hello! I purchased this activity and my students enjoyed it, however, I noticed there are a couple of mistakes on it. Could they be fixed and then this document re-sent out? In the black area, the number is 4 tens and 4 ones, this should say 3 tens and 4 ones. Also, the red area has numbers in it that don't match the picture.

HI, I am looking for missing addends and I love your materials, quick question as I have downloaded some others with same format. Please don't be offended, but would you consider revising the cards to remove the card number on the missing addend card - the reason I ask is my children in the class were confused as they thought that was the answer (when it clearly wasn't), I had to white out the card numbers to make it clearer. Just a suggestion, you don't have to do anything.

I decided not to make one for Thanksgiving because I knew I would be spending a few weeks writing report cards (which I am in the midst of) and thought I might not do a good job. If you still have trouble once you print it let me know :) I think your k's would love the lego craft. They should be able to print the describing labels this time of year and maybe the writing portion toward the end of the year?? I had my K's build a structure a few years ago and used the song then had them orally give clues about what was in their bag.

Hi, The smaller of the two pieces sits in behind the larger piece. If you sit the smaller one a little higher it will look like the right arm and leg. Both pieces are the same color. Does this help? If not, please let me know!

Re your name being spelled like mine, I get spelled Laureen fairly often...but the real puzzle is the mispronunciations...usually Lorraine but also Lauren, and strangely, Lorne. What is this, Bonanza?! I tell people it rhymes with "chlorine" LOL!

No problem! Check your inbox :) I know it's hard without a color printer. I'll keep that in mind as I create other activities. The only one I have right now that is black and white is my Easter tens and ones mystery picture.

Laureen,have you tried Mobymath.com? I just heard about it am trying the free one month trial and so far it seems fantastic!!!! I am starting my kiddos on it this week.They take a placement test and then are given lessons to work on what they need. GREAT differentiation!!! Feel free to email me anytime... cja1st@gmail.com.
