The multiple choice questions were way too simple (Who is the author of “Beowulf?” a. Shakespeare b. King Arthur c. J.R.R Tolkien d. anonymous) and they did not cover the plot of the epic. The common core section was a good idea, but the product was advertised as 2 separate exams, which it is not. It is actually one exam in two sections, both unable to stand on their own. I would like to get my money back, if I could.

The Anglo Saxon exam is a stand alone exam. I do not use the Beowulf specific test any longer, because as you know, common core requires that we test skills learned and practiced during a unit with an unfamiliar piece of text: the literature is simply the vehicle for teaching skills. That is what the Ango Saxon exam does.
I included a basic Beowulf content test for those who are not using common core standards or as a way to check for understanding of the text. I thought this was clear in the description, but I will list them separately to avoid confusion.

This is a creative ending to a Poe unit that can be easily tweaked to your teaching style. However, I do think that it is a bit overpriced for amount of materials you recieve. The instructions are basic, but well worded. Thanks for the ideas!!!

This is a fun idea, but that is all it is. I would expect to see a fully developed assignment sheet with rubric and more specific guidelines. If you included a photo of some completed student projects that would be helpful as well.

When choosing this quiz I assumed it would be a little more in depth. Not that it affected anything - the numbers are incorrect on the key. Also, when downloaded, the font was in music notes. Very disappointed and waste of money.

I created this as a way for my students to research a god or goddess, create them as a puppet, then present them to the class. My students have always really enjoyed the research and have come up with the most creative puppets. I have a jar with god and goddess names they draw from. Typically the presentations take one to two class periods (depending on class size). I have given three days to one week (outside of class time) for completion. Hope this helps!
