Sure! One license=use in one class or by one teacher (You can use it over multiple years, too, just as you would for any book you have purchased.). Thank you for asking and for checking out my store! :)

Do you have a Common Core Summer Review packet for 2nd grade? I bought yours for my kindergarteners and first graders. I love them and so do the parents. I think these packets are wonderful! I would love to have one for second grade to use with a student I tutor. :-)

Hi! I'm just getting started here - I'm a high school business teacher and I have several lessons and powerpoints that I would love to share on here. I'm concerned about copyright....obviously in business we are talking about real companies and brands quite a bit, so is it allowed for me to use real commercials within my powerpoint or company logos if they are used for educational purchases? I have seen several other powerpoints on this website that do use pictures, images, links to commercials and etc but I don't know if that is allowed. Thanks so much for your help!

Hi Teacher Tam
Love your products and use them EVERY day in class! In the future, would you consider copying the standard onto the math prompts? You have it on the bottom of each page, which is great, but I write the standard on all six prompts per page and then make copies. Just a thought! Either way, I'll continue to purchase them. . . such a MAJOR time saver!

Hi,

I just ordered your jester graphic fonts. I wanted to use them as single letters on single sheets of 8 by 11. When I did this the letters became very pixeled. When downloading it said that it was having trouble encrypting. I am not sure what that means, so I am not sure if the graphics were never meant to be this large, or if there was a problem in the download. I love the colors you used and the design, just having a bit of a problem. Any suggestions?

Teacher Tam  (TpT Seller)
Hmm. I have never used them that large, but I just took a few minutes to try it. I used Pages on the Mac, but didn't print. While not quite as crisp and clear, they still looked okay large. Try downloading the file again (on another computer if possible) and see if that helps. I can also email you the file to see if it makes a difference: teachertam(at)att(dot)net

We use composition notebooks. I have them each make a cover (There's a freebie in my store). Then, I make enough copies for the class and each student glues one at the top of the next page. I choose the prompts by season, the topic we're working on or need to review, and the level that fits the students I have. Sometimes, I use the same prompt, but different levels for different groups.

ThreeKs re: Cut-and-Glue Sight Word Sentences for Winter
I love the winter cut-and-glue sight word sentences - my only concern is the font used. When any of the sentences begin with a lowercase l, the children think it is a capital L, because of the font, and think that it is the first word of the sentence. I have just had to use white out and dab a little on the one part that confuses the children.

I'm not sure which product you are referring to because I don't know of any number sentences in my math workbooks that you "edit," students just cut and paste the correct answer. I think you might be talking about a set of my cut-and-glue sentences. In that case, each of the sentences are grammatically correct--or at least they will be once the student cuts out each part and glues it back together correctly on another sheet of paper. The directions are given at the top of each student page (sorry they are not on the teacher page). If this doesn't answer your question, feel free to email me at teachertam2(at)att(dot)net

Okay, so I printed it out and it worked fine, so I'd do 2 things: 1) make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader (a free download) downloaded and 2) I would try to print 1 page at a time. Go to the page you want to print and, in print options, either select "current page" or a specific page number. If you are still having problems, just send me an email to teachertam2(at)att(dot)net and I'll email a document with just the last 2 pages. The problem probably has to do with the orientation of the pages (horizontal vs. vertical). When I create the PDF, it makes 2 separate documents based on the orientation of the pages. Printing one page at a time should avoid any problems.

I'm working on it! I don't know if you saw the Christmas/holiday set I made for kindergarten, but I am planning on making one for first, too. Then I'm going to make sets for winter. Thank you so much for your interest in my store. I'm glad you like the last set! :)

I Teacher Tam. Your video one was great!! I want to know how to create graphics. In the video you stated that you create your own. Is there a particular program that you use? Please help!! Thank you soooo much!!

I have a Mac. I love this program called RIta. You can Google it online. It's $20. I also have ArtStudio for the iPad that works pretty well, but it has it's limitations. But, I only really create things for fun now or if I need something specific. It is MUCH easier to just buy from others and follow their terms of use. Creating my own art AND materials was taking WAY too long!

Hi! I viewed your "Getting Started" video, it was great! Thank you for the help!

I was wondering if you knew how to create thumbnails for Smartboard Lessons? I made sure the first slide was nice, and the TPT website said the file was too big. I also created a word document (with the text boxes you showed), and that would not load either.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I would like for my lessons to attract attention!

Thanks so much!

Although I have never created smartboard files, from what I have read, I think you can first save it as a PDF, right? Then, you open the PDF, select the page you want and save it as a JPG (make sure to reduce the size so it will load).
The same with word. I make all my files PDFs so that no one can steal the graphics and because not everyone has word. Plus, if you used a certain formatting or special fonts, unless the other person has that font installed, it will revert back to plain old times new roman! So, you select "print" and then scroll down to "save as PDF".

I purchased the $10 set of Math Journal prompts on October 19, 2012. I paid through Pay Pal. Pay Pal shows that the payment was made but I have not received the product. How long before I receive the item?

I have been trying to pay for the math common core download without success. If it says I have an item in my cart, i can;t get to the payment page. OR it says I have nothing in my cart. Not sure what the problem is.

That question is not one I can answer either. Too technical for me! You should contact TPT customer service by using the link on the very bottom of the page. They are always very helpful and timely in their response! Thank you for visiting my store!

Thanks for the many techniques to use in creating materials! I found them to be very helpful! I am questioning how we protect our work beyond converting files to a pdf format. Do you trademark your creations? I've downloaded reams of material regarding this, but it's overwhelming to think that each project would need to be trademarked - and costlty too!

I have only officially copyrighted one of my items, but mostly because I do not want my character copied. From what I understand, you do not have to register your items with the copyright office. As soon as you create them, they are legally unable to be copied. This is my understanding, anyway. If you have more questions or want to discuss things further, feel free to email me at teachertam2 (at) gmail (dot) com

Thanks for providing hints on how to get started in TpT! I have not found much info re: protecting products that are created and uploaded. Do you trademark your lessons? As some teachers have 100s of items in their "stores" I'm wondering if they've trademarked each individual lesson. That seems like a huge undertaking!

I never gave it much thought until the last year. I now add my info on the cover page and my name and year to every individual page. Believe me, although it takes some time, it is a necessity to protect yourself and your products---and all of your hard work!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for almost 13 years, most of them spent teaching pre-K and kindergarten. I also have experience teaching up to 3rd grade. I have used my love of reading to develop a set of 30 phonics-based beginning reading books for use in preschool-first grade. In addition, I have developed sets of reading games and math games that can be used in the classroom or as take-home activities and can be adjusted to address various skill levels. I also have a range of hands on, cut-and-glue materials which keep young students engaged. They have proven to be a success in my own classroom and I'm excited to share them on Teachers Pay Teachers!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to use a variety of materials to teach to the wide range of interests and ability levels of the students who enter my classroom. I'm all about using fun and innovative methods to encourage learning!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I recently had an article published in Texas Child Care Quarterly. You can view/read it here: http://www.childcarequarterly.com/spring11_story3.html

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I actually started out in another field. While working on my doctorate in school psychology, I had a revelation. I think it's a big hint when, instead of shadowing the school psychologist, you'd rather be in the first grade classroom cutting out bulletin board materials! That was my wake-up call! I have degrees from Morehead State University & Illinois State. My MA is from Wheaton College.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my 3 kids, working on family pictures and videos, creating materials to use in my classroom, and, most recently, writing a blog, http://teachertamseducationaladventures.blogspot.com. I also enjoy presenting at conferences when my husband is gracious enough to babysit!
