My level 3 students loved this game! It took a few minutes to get the hang of the rules, but once they got the hang of it, they really enjoyed it. It's a great way to review the subjunctive.

This was exactly what I was looking for. No joke, I came to TPT looking for emotions and situations to go with them for my mixed-grade enrichment Spanish co-op class. To make it like Apples to Apples was genius. The kids really enjoyed playing the game. My 5 year old son and I played it our way too...and he usually resists learning Spanish! Wonderful all around.

I have not altered the document, but I have lowered the price to better reflect the number of pages included in the packet. I have several other Preterite/Imperfect products that I use for teaching the past tense. I use these movie sheets as review or even as assessments.

About 4 years ago you had downloaded a PowerPoint on Spanish colors that I had posted. I unfortunately did not continue with my TPT account.
Well, I'm back with more and much improved presentations, especially since they can be viewed on more platforms, including Mac and iPad (and having PowerPoint isn't necessary).
You still have to be connected to the internet to view them, though, but with newer technology, it runs more smoothly...

I would be interested in using some of your materials on my website universalhomeschool.com (this website is due to be released in August 2011). The site will mainly focus on teaching videos for children who are being homeschooled, or need the extra help. We will offer math, reading and writing. I started building this site about a year ago and during this time I have been creating videos, quizzes, worksheets and lesson plans. I originally wanted a site that would be available for free to parents and teachers. Unfortunately because of the cost of the hosting, development, materials, and other overheads having a free site would be impossible so I will be charging a yearly fee to have access to the site. This will be anywhere between $30 and $50.

I don't usually use vocabulary from the movie itself; I just use my current vocabulary list and have students use as many words as they can to describe or talk about the movie. Some lists fit better than others, but it's fun to see how creative they can be!

Hi, Denise! The open-ended version has one ready-to-go worksheet for the preterite and imperfect, and three customizable sheets that you can use with any grammar you like. The Pret/Imp version has just two worksheets. If you are doing something other than the past tenses, you definitely get more for your money with the customizable version. But then there is the tweaking . . .:-)
As far as the Mac goes, I'm pretty sure it should download just fine. The documents are in Word format, and I think Mac is able to download and convert .doc files. If not, let me know, and I'll send you a copy in a format you can read!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have 23 years of experience in the classroom. I've taught Spanish most of my career, with a few years of Language Arts thrown in. I spent 13 years at the middle school level, and am in my 9th year at high school. I love both levels, and often can't believe how lucky I am to be in this profession. I taught a Spanish Teaching Methods course at BYU as an adjunct professor for two semesters, and loved that experience. When I retire from public school, my goal is to get a doctorate and start a second career at the university level.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I try to teach with humor and patience combined with high expectations of my students. I speak Spanish in all of my classes, including Spanish 1.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
My love for teaching is due mostly to two or three wonderful teachers I had: Mr. Weber at Hannah Holbrook Elementary, Mrs. Johnson at Bountiful Jr. High, and Dr. James Taylor at BYU, whose methods course from 25 years ago is still fresh in my mind, encouraging and inspiring me every day.
