I just ordered your material packet and I'm having a difficult time opening the content. I already extracted all the files from the zipped files, and the files show up as shortcuts. When I try to open them, or try to open them in a certain program, I receive error messages. Any solutions? Thanks!

I just downloaded your Every Vote Counts set - it is awesome. I noticed on page 18 - the vocabulary cards - the word President doesn't quite fit on mine. The "t" at the end is below the word. Any chance on fixing that and sending it back my way? Thanks. I can't wait to share this with my kids.

I have butterflies in my stomach right now after reading about your son with selective mutism. I teach first grade in Texas (this will be my 14th year). I have two daughters, ten and seven. My seven year old, kaitlyn, has recently been diagnosed with selective mutism. It has been a long, hard struggle for me to find ways to help her. Up until kindergarten, I always thought she was extremely shy (she is going into second grade). She has progressed with her speech therapist this summer, but I am so nervous about her starting back at school. Any advice?

Positive Academic and Social Behavior (TpT Seller)
I am considering providing Clip Charts, with clothes pins to the teachers in my school (I'm the school psych there). I want to know how the record keeping works in real life. Do teachers record the final clothes pin every day for every child, or do they just do it for the high need students? I anticipate some "blow-back" from asking for extra paper work from teachers....

Sheila- We don't use clip charts at my school. Teachers use a different system that is documented on a chart every day. I am removed from the record keeping, as I am a specialist and do not have my own class. Sorry I can't be of more help. Lauren

I've been a reading specialist for the last ten years and most recently a literacy coach for Pre-K to grade 5 in an elementary school. I began my career teaching honors British and World Literature to high school juniors and seniors. Developed elective course curricula for Shakespeare and Women In Literature courses. Next, I moved on to middle school, teaching grade 8 English Language Arts for 7 years. English department chair for 6 years. Worked as a literacy resource teacher for grades 6-8 and wrote, coordinated, and led professional development to teachers on a weekly basis for four years.
