I like the idea of letting student peer grade each other's sentences. This is a simple rubric with clear sentences for students to read and understand. I think that 3rd graders will have no problem with this at all!

This simple activity really hits many core writing essentials! I have even sent them home with them to do as a family and attach the rubric for the parents to use and discuss with them. Many times the student ends up "teaching" the adults and I have gotten a lot of great positive feedback from it.
