I plan on putting these cards up around the room and will have my 3rd graders go on a room hunt to review perimeter and area. They love getting out of their seats! Armed with a clipboard, it's a great way to review in a fun format. They are attractive and easy to spot.

There are sixteen original poems in the unit. Many are printed four to a page to save paper. Others are popular Shel Silverstein and jack prelutsky, but those are not included in the unit. However, the lesson plans I've included reference these poems and also include web links to those poems on various sites by the original authors. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I believe we are going to be doing our next unit on a book called The Tiger Rising. It is another book by Kate DiCamillo, author of the Winn Dixie book. There are a lot of parallels between the two stories. We are also going to try to integrate more language skills in this one as some test review.

I am wanting to know if you are going to do a unit on Helen Keller our next unit in GA.? If so when will you have the plans ready? I am not sure if I will use that book because after looking at it, it seems rather long to hold my students attention. I wanted to see what you thought of the book and see what your plans are. I have been looking at other books to use as a class reading, but just don't know for sure what to do. We have our famous State testing the third week in April. We looked at the Helen Keller book and thought it was extremely too hard for our kids. We are fixing to start a new one using the book The Tiger Rising. It is also by Kate DiCamillo-like Winn Dixie. There are a lot of parallels between the books and helps meet those author study standards. I havent gotten anything put together for that one though. If you havent already gotten it, I have a short (2-3 week) unit on Poetry and Figurative Language in my store. It worked well with our kids. It has all of the lesson plans and sheets to go with it, and the links to the poems are all included as well.

It is a zipped folder with two documents inside. One is the set of plans, the other are the attachments. First download the zipped folder..Then you have to unzip the folder and you can then drag the two files inside to your desktop.
I know on my PC, I use Google Chrome. It defaults all downloaded files to your Downloads folder. Once you download the zipped folder, go to your downloads folder and find the file. Then double click it to unzip.. Both documents from that folder can then be dragged to your desktop. Then you can open and save them from there.

Yes.. I will be bundling them. I've still got the other three to work on. And yes, we are very close! I teach at Antioch but live about 2 miles from TH.

I purchased the Because Winn Dixie test bundle. I have tried several times to print them but they would not print stating that the document could not be printed. could you email the file so that I could try printing it. I have re-downloaded the file from the teacherspayteacher sites 3 times yielding the same results. Please help!!

Yes, you may. I already have a set in my store using the same images and multiplication facts in them. I believe they are cheaper too! I specialize in these and carry them for almost all of the holidays and themes. Any commercial use of the image pack is okay as long as they are flattened into PDFs.
