TEACHING EXPERIENCE

An teacher with 20+ years teaching studio arts and academic subjects. I've taught PreK-12 in California, Hawaii, and internationally with regular students, SPED students, ELL students and GT students, including AP. I've also taught college and Adult Education.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Differentiation is one of those words that really work if you do it wholeheartedly. I try to incorporate as many different learning styles into my teaching as I can. Creativity is very, very important to students of any level today and especially in their future.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Grants for artists in the community & teaching in the community; researching historic frescoes; creating collaborative curriculum. Awards for creativity, longevity and flexibility in the various schools in which I've taught

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

MA in Art Education, BFA, and a BA in Literature. Lots of professional development in ELL, SPED, Assessment, and Standards-based lessons. Credentials in Art, Language Arts, Multiple Subjects, Physical Education, and Early Childhood Education Units.
