QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:
Heather Rice - The Bag Lady
I know this is not really the place for this. But I am going to risk getting into trouble and do it anyway... April is child abuse awareness month. As a teacher, I've had to report suspected child abuse. But it never hit as close to home as it did this month when I found out that my cousin's daughter was assaulted by a family member we all liked and trusted. I am trying to raise $400.00 to give to Safe Haven in Martinsburg, WV which is a shelter and advocacy center for abused children. I can create a playground with used tires for that. I am donating all the money I make this month to Safe Haven. I was hoping that you might mention this on your blog so that I can get more sales. I will post a copy of my sales and a copy of my donation receipt. THank you for considering my request, Heather Ricehttp://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Heather-Rice-The-Bag-Lady///email-heathertonwv@hotmail.com

I was using these task cards today, and I think there may be an error on Numbers & Operations Fractions 5.NF.4, problem 4. The picture shows 1/2 x 1/4, but the problem states 2/3 x 3/4. Am I reading it correctly? Thanks for your help! (I love your products!!) Actually- it's for the 5th grade task cards. (Evidently, I do have reading issues, so I may be interpreting it correctly!)

Hi Amanda,

You should be able to drag the file into your flash drive folder. You just can't "save as" since it's a protected file so that clip art can't be changed.

I am unable to print the Volume Task Cards.
The first sheet printed correctly. The second sheet jumbled some of the shapes. Some sheets wouldn't print altogether.
I tried everything...Adobe, different computer, different printer, redownloading, etc.
You can imagine the ink and cardstock I've wasted...

Is this something you can email me directly to see if that works?

Thanks,

Thanks so much for your purchase! First, make sure you have the most current version of Adobe Reader (not preview). Then, try printing in groups of pages (Pages 3-12, etc.). Also, make sure you are not trying to Save As the document, which a secured file doesn't allow.

If that doesn't work, try this advice from TpT Tech Support which has a 99.9% success rate!

1) Save & Open the PDF file with Adobe Reader

2) Click 'print'

3) Click on 'advanced'

4) Check the 'print as image' box, and this should cover all potential issues.

And, if that doesn't work, shoot me an email at teachingwithamountainview@gmail.com OR you can email TpT Support (who are fabulous) at https://support.teacherspayteachers.com .

I recently purchased your task cards for Summarizing, Paraphrasing, and Quoting. I was wondering if you have the task cards with just the passage on it or the passage and one question. I teach fourth grade and am concerned that it may overwhelm the students to do all three at once in the beginning. I wanted to focus on one skill at a time to start.
April 8, 2014 Report inappropriate comment
Teaching With a Mountain View
Hi Christina,

At this time, I don't have the paragraphs individually. However, I would encourage you to tell your students to just do ONE of the assignments, depending on what you are working on. I actually started the lesson that way--I had the kids just summarize it, then paraphrase, etc.

I hope that helps!

Follow up question! Which would be better the Whole Year Reading bundle or the Reading Skills Task Card bundle?
April 3, 2014 Report inappropriate comment
Teaching With a Mountain View
Oh, that's a tough question! :)

The year bundle has monthly sets that include 4 cards for many different reading skills plus a critical thinking and enrichment set of cards (which can also be purchased separately). The Reading Skills bundle has several sets of cards with multiple (often 32+) cards focusing on the same skill.

I use the Reading Skills bundle to teach and reinforce current skills and the monthly bundle in centers or as a warm up as a cumulative review. So, it really depends how you will use it.

I hope that helps!

Hi Julie!

I was on your early finisher blog and I really like your early finisher task cards. At the bottom of the page it states that you can purchase the bundle and it has a block that shows what is in the bundle (I believe). I did purchase it from TPT,but the others that were in that block were not part of the purchase. Can you help clarify this to me? I was really interested in the A to Z, What if and Fluency Task cards.

Hi Cherie!

Thank you so much for your purchase. I believe the picture you are referring to is the compilation of all the different cards I had on my display at the time. Below it, there are individual links to the different cards. The Bundle just happens to be the first one linked. Does that make sense?

Thanks so much!

I bought your Geometry task cards and have fallen in love with the font you used. Do you know what it's called?
Thanks!

I am looking for 6th grade Common Core math review. I noticed that you had 3rd, 4th, and 5th. I was wondering if I was overlooking 6th or if you did not have anything? Your work is amazing!!! I have spent all afternoon browsing. Thank you!!!

Hi There!

Thank you so much for your interest. Right now, the closest thing I have to that is my test prep project.

http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/The-Sum-of-School-A-Cumulative-Math-Test-Prep-Project-5th-6th-Grade-1136371

It does, however, cover mostly 5th grade standards.

Kristen S. re: Place Value Task Cards Common Core Aligned
Hello! I recently purchased this product with many others...love them all. My question is that I am in need of more of the cards like #17-20, for example (8 ten thousands = ___ thousands) than what comes in this pack....there are only a few. I cannot find anything in your store that is just this type of card. Do you have any options for me?

I recently purchased the area and perimeter activity task cards. I cannot get pages 11-18 to print. I bought the entire package and I would like to be able to print the entire packet out. If you can let me know what I can do to get these to print that would be wonderful. Thanks.

I recently purchased the "Angle Task Cards Common Core (Identify, Draw, Measure, and More" pages 4, 5, 6, and 7 print as a blank page. Could you check to see if anyone else has had this problem. I really want to use these task cards but cannot due to the blank pages.

Buyer re: Perimeter and Area Task Cards for Differentiated Instruction
I believe the answer key is incorrect for Area & Perimeter #1 and #2. The first answer should be 14 cm x 3 cm, and the second answer should by 7 km x 6 km...right?

Hi! I love all of your products! I recently bought Breaking up the Bakery, Skittles Math, and the Multi Digit Resort packet. I am having difficulty printing the materials at school because it says different type of paper is needed besides 8.5 by 11. I was hoping you could assist me in solving this problem so that I could use this wonderful resources in my classroom! Thanks

That's so strange! When you print, try selecting "FIT" under the size option. If that doesn't work, let me know! Thanks so much for your purchase. :)

Hi!

So I just bought your informational and fiction task card sets and I am wondering if you have an answer key for them. I could be missing it and if I am…I apologize.

Thanks!

Hi Nichole! Thank you so much for your purchases. The task cards do not include answer keys, as many of the questions are inferential. Enjoy!

I just downloaded your Writing Expressions with Variables Task Cards last night. I tried printing them today, and they won't print. I can print everything else that uses adobe reader, so Im thinking it might be a glitch with this activity. Has anyone else had issues being able to print the cards, and if so, how did they fix it?
