I found out mid-September that I was teaching a combined grade 4/5 class. I had lots of grade 4 resources but no grade 5 resources. As I scrambled to pull together grade 5 resources I came across this combined unit. I loved the cross curricular and technology integration. My students also enjoyed the variety of activities. Any chance you will be creating grade 5/6 combined units? I've just found out that I am tentatively assigned to teach grade 5/6 next year.

Absolutely love this unit. This is my second year doing the 4/5 split and find the science the hardest. After going through this unit and realizing how everything is included and lessons are easy to follow I could not believe it. The only issue I have are the activities that require and iPad which our school does not provide.

Honestly straight "A's". I am in the middle of this unit and absolutely loving it. Please create more units like this one. I'd buy one on weather, light and sound, or early European Explorers...or reading strategies. Its the best unit I've ever purchased...I usually end up writing my own but this was better than I could have done!

I enjoyed this unit for its technology component, hands-on activities and integration with the language curriculum. My students were engaged the whole time! We don't have iPads, so I used laptops and improvised with other programs. I did use my own personal iPad, and that got my school thinking that it might be a great idea to get some. It was well worth the money because it would have taken me a month to come up with everything that is in this unit. I will always teach my science in units like this. I'm sorry I missed out on using the 4/5 combined Pulley's and Gears because I have already done those units. I was hoping to find a 4/5 on Lights and Sound and Conservation of Energy, but hopefully it's coming??
Some pre-teaching is required before the centres.

We thank you for your question & interest. This unit is built on a 5 centre rotation which includes iPads. We built it in such a way that if you do not have iPads, you will still have the other centres to work with. Therefore, to answer your question, as nice as it is to have iPads, they are not necessary for the unit. Again, we thank you for your interest & question. All the best!

Two things - I was wondering if you were going to be working on the other two 4/5 science units. The two I've purchased have been very successful with the students. Awesome - thanks.
2nd - quick suggestion - is it possible to make your youtube links clickable? It is sometimes difficult to type in the addresses and a couple haven't worked for me, so then I have to search. What I was trying to do was create QR codes so the students using IPads could just scan and go.

I purchased and downloaded your unit "Zipping Around the World: A Fun Project to Learn about other Countries!" (290086) and am excited to begin the unit in my classroom. I did have a quick question- in the unit your refer to turning everything in in a suitcase. Is this a pattern for a paper suitcase (portfolio style) or a real suticase that you would have the students bring their work back into the classroom in? If a pattern, I'd love to have a copy or picture of it so that I can duplicate it.

Thanks for your question! The "suitcase" is open to student interpretation. Some students used a knapsack decorated with patches from their "travels", others made a suitcase from a cereal or shoe box, while others designed something unique to their destination (e.g. one student repurposed a t-shirt from the actual location into a bag). We left it open to maximize student creativity! Enjoy the activity!

I love this product......but I would love to see it in red and black theme before I will purchase it. It has everything imaginable, but I would like to see it in my color scheme for this year.

Once you make your purchase, download links will live for 30 days on your "Download/Rate My Purchases" page which you can access when you're logged in. Be sure to print and save your products before the 30 days are up. Hard goods, both teacher-created and used items, will be shipped to you by the seller within 3 days of purchase. Buyers can contact sellers through their 'See My Purchases' page on their 'Manage My Account' dashboards."

I saw your store on the home page of Teachers Pay Teachers; so, I thought I would look at your freebie. I left you a rating. Well done! Since you are new to TPT, here are a few suggestions that might help you to better market your products.
I noticed you used the footer to put the copyright symbol and your name but think about addint the date of creation as well on EVERY page. Items, especially free ones, have been "stolen" from TPT and posted on other sites to be sold. You have to protect all of your creations. Also number your pages.
I think it is important that we see what others are doing; so, feel free to look at any or all of my freebies listed below. If you care to, a rating or any feedback you might have would be great.
