Hopejoy,

Unfortunately the review was created on a website called Jeopardy Labs. It's not really a document, so there isn't a way to save it as a file. It is all created and edited through the website www.jeopardylabs.com I apologize for the inconvenience :(

Hi LaToya. This file is actually not zipped, so there shouldn't be any problems opening. I would try re-opening it again or try it on a different computer if possible. I've haven't had any other users have problems opening it, so my guess would be the school computer. For some reason they often seem to be the problem. Please e-mail me if you have any further problems or still can't open it after trying these. terry.abromitis@gmail.com Thanks so much!

I thought I had replied to this question a few days ago, but somehow it never showed up. There isn't a password for the file, so I'm not sure what may be going wrong. Are you trying to open it on a school computer? The files are zipped so you need to make sure your computer has an unzipping program. shagenbarth re: 5th Grade Math Test Bundle: Entire year - 7 Units - ALL Common Core Standards
Hi there,
In your product description you say, "These tests are specifically aligned to the 5th Grade Common Core Standards, specifically the units chosen by the state of Georgia." My question is, aren't the Common Core standards the same across the US, so no matter what state we're in, they should apply? I'm not in Georgia so I'm cautious about making a purchase because of this comment, and am seeking clarification. Thanks!
February 24, 2013 Report inappropriate comment

Terry Abromitis  (TpT Seller)
Sorry for the confusion. All the standards are the same. They are just organized in units that were specific to the state of Georgia so there may be some standards tied into certain units that may be different from your state. If you look at the tests individually in my store it will tell you which standards are in which unit. I hope this helps!

Thanks so much for that fabulous suggestion. I would love to make that and hadn't thought about it. The answer key is also wrong? Maybe? Is item 1 supposed to be d)12 while you have it as b)3
Item 2 is lettered (on the test) a, b, b, d instead of a,b,c,d
the answer should be C on the key but it is b = perhaps because the test is lettered wrong?

I just checked the answer key.

For Item 1: 36 feet = 3 yards (answer b) - it's correct how it is. There are 12 feet in 1 yard, so 36 feet are in 3 yards.

I've corrected #2 to have a,b,c,d and the answer key should say "c".

Thank you SOOOOO much.

Gord,

Thanks for your question. "Becoming Active" simply means that you are new to the forum and have participated a lot yet. The more you post and participate in the forums, the more your "status" grows.

After looking at your store, I see that you have some great and useful products. I would definitely go back to make sure that every product has a unique and clear cover page. In my opinion, I think if there are too many words or image, it can be distracting, but it depends on the product. You want your audience to be able to tell, right from the cover, what the product is going to be about.

I hope this is helpful. You have quite a range and plethora of products. Consider joining some social media sites (Pinterest is huge!) in order to market your products. Thanks for following me!

abutler5 re: Santa's Christmas Shopping Spree - 5.NBT.7 CC Decimals
Good afternoon,
I noticed you made corrections to the answer document for calculating costs and totaling taxes...that was my first question. My next question has to do with the "Gauging Gas" Portion. Would it be possible to switch question #2 and #3?
Here's my thinking...In order to answer #2, you have to know how many miles per gallon which is given in #3. This confused some of my students and I had to explain, it wasn't as simple as dividing the total mileage by the number of gallons. They would first have to know the number of mpg to figure out how many miles per tank, then divide the miles per tank by the total mileage to see how many tanks of gas would be needed to make the round trip.
Overall, I loved the concept and my students thoroughly enjoyed it!

Terry Abromitis  (TpT Seller)
Wow, thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. I went back to take a closer look and I absolutely agree. I switched the two problems and they will now need to divide the # of gallons used on the trip by the # of gallons the tank holds.

Thanks again and I hope this helps! I'm so glad to hear that your students enjoyed it :)

Hey Terry,
I love (and my kids love) your Santa's Christmas Shopping Spree. I did have a question about the Calculating Costs page. Under wagon you have $136.64 dollars. If you look at the answer key on the tallying the toys page there are 3 wagons for 34.59 a piece. If you multiply that you get 103.77 not 136.64. Is there any way that you could change that and email it to me since I can't change a .pdf?
Thanks!

We had a ridiculous pacing guide this year from the county so we have already finished up fractions. We did place value, all the fraction standards, adding and subtracting and estimating with decimals, and now we are on to division. My students are extremely low this year and they were not ready to start fractions that early in the year. It was a bad call on the part of the county. We will be reviewing and spiraling fractions for the rest of the year, though.

No worries! It was such a fabulous resource and I know it took alot of time to create! Are you planning to do something similar for dividing decimals with models?

That's my plan. I'm also planning to do it for fractions. I'm not sure where you guys are in your units, but we just finished up decimals and are moving into our fraction unit after the break. My goal is to whip out some stuff by the end of the weekend.

Hey Terry!

On page 7, I think numbers 1 and 2 are mixed up as fair as shading. Number 1 says shade up and down but the picture shows shading side to side, and then Number 2 says side to side but it looks up and down in the picture...or have I just lost my mind...which is quite possible.

You have not lost your mind at all :) I'm fixing it right now! I must have lost my mind while creating. All that shading was exhausting. Thanks for letting me know and I will upload a revised version ASAP.
