Joanne Mitchell  (TpT Seller) re: My What Do You Think Journal
I love the "My" journals.....and am wondering if might do a sixth grade version combining the prompts that are geared to get a 12 year old thinking and writing all into one package. I would be happy to look thru them to suggest which ones would work. Love all of your products and an older version might be a new best-seller!

I bought set 4-- and excited to use it for the last 2 weeks of school.

Not that I can't figure them all out-- but is there an answer key? The kids correct their own-- it would save me a lot of time!

Thanks so much!

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you are asking. There isn't a set pacing guide with the Common Core standards and so states are developing their own. Therefore, this doesn't follow a set pacing. Each set goes through every standard so, while they build on each other throughout the set, the standards are repeated throughout the entire thing. I hope that helps answer your question.

I'm still confused as to why you can't get a multiple license from their purchase. You won't be able to do it in yours, but they could do it on there's and order the multiple license. They just need to go to their purchases. Then you should still be able to add your Paypal info I think- but if not, then you could just pay them back.

Hi,
35 pages are snowman cards with different numbers on them. Some are used for the standard and expanded form center, and then others are used for all of the other centers. There are numbers to 100 and numbers above 100 with either 4 or 6 cards per page.

For the office products, I was contacted by the company I review for. It's the only way I knew about it! It really is an awesome alternative to scissors!

There are 40 pages in each set. Some people choose to use one a day, so, yes, those people choose to buy the bundled four sets. However, each set includes all of the standards, so if you just bought one set and used them once a week, you would still have enough to review for the year.

I have a question about the 2nd grade open ended question pack. We are in the transition of adopting the CCS. We have adopted the math but I am not as well versed in the Language Arts CCS. I noticed in the first passage it said, "What is the problem?" Does the LA/CCS not use words like conflict, solution? I would like to purchase the packet but try to keep my language consistent. Thank you for answering my questions.

The standards only explicitly say "CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.2.1 Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text." and "CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.2.3 Describe how characters in a story respond to major events and challenges." They don't clearly address problem or solution in 2nd grade. The standards can be found at www.corestandards.org. Different states have unpacked the standards differently and so we don't have clear information about specific words.

Have you thought about adding the common core strand to each box on the Daily Math Warm-ups. I think it would be very helpful if the teachers and children knew specifically what standard they were working on. It could be as simple as putting 3.0A.1 and such in the corner of each box.

Thanks in advance.
November 4, 2012 Report inappropriate comment

I tried to make the pages progressive in each set. There are four sets, so the beginning of each set would be easier than the ones at the end. With that said, they are spiral, so each standard is throughout the set.

For clipart security, and to keep my items secure, they are not editable.

I have made a huge mistake. I currently have the 2nd grade common core daily math warm ups. Today I looking through your site again and saw "Set 2" Daily math warm ups and Set 3 math warm ups. Being so excited to add to my collection I purchased them. It was after I downloaded them and opened them that I saw they were for 3rd grade. I have low 2nd graders and there is no way I can use these in my classroom. I have not printed anything. Is there anything we can do or am I stuck? I should have known better than to rush in and purchase. Thanks Jenny

I'm so sorry about that. At this time I don't have the additional sets created for the second grade standards and also only have one set of the K/1 standards. My best solution is that you contact TpT for a refund since I don't have what you were looking for created yet. If there's anything else I can do, please let me know.

You have 4 different sets of the daily math warm up for Third Grade. Are they all different or do they have some of the same questions?

They all are different but the repeat the same standards. So, you won't see the same question twice, but you will see the same sort of question in each pack. Does that make sense?

Hi Tessa! Just wanted you to know I know you submitted this product to the CCSS Math site under the general category. That category is for items that are not lessons (posters, parent info, etc.). Looks like this one is actual lessons, so even if it covers very CCSS Standard for 1st grade math, you need to check all those categories so I can add it to them. Feel free to resubmit this one if you like. Thanks so much! -Charity

Hi Tessa! Can I ask where you got your clocks from? They are so cute and I would love to use them in a project I'm working on!

Thanks,

I created them actually. I have them in my store in pink and green here: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Polka-Dot-Clock-Clip-Art They only have times for the hour and half hour. If you would like them in a different color, let me know and I can whip them up for you. You can email me at talesfromoutsidetheclassroom@gmail.com

Could you give me some directions on the game "Four in a row"? I'm not sure how to play it with my students.

It's like Connect 4. Players put a piece down and use strategy to try and create 4 in a row, or block their opponent. Does that help?

That might come in the future but I'm not making any promises. 4th grade is a bit above my comfort level, but I may look into it.
