I have been teaching in a public school for 8 years. I was recently moved to kindergarten and cried the day I found out. I loved teaching second grade and was worried what it would be like in kindergarten. Now I rejoice every day! Teaching kindergarten is a blessing. I am able to help build a strong educational foundation for these precious gifts! I think of my cutie pies as miniature second graders. They are able to learn so fast and are able to do lots more than I expected. I love making center/station activities that reinforce learning and help them become self-sufficient. I have been told that my lessons are creative, so I thought I would start to share them with others. If you have a special request for a certain lesson, please feel free to contact me. I will be happy to make things per special requests.
Welcome to My Seuss World......... I love using Dr. Seuss books to help with my teaching strategies. If Dr. Seuss made it, I must have it!! All of the decorations and accessories are all Seuss related. I love having a theme that carries out through everything we do. The class loves it when I read a Seuss book. They love pointing out the rhyming words. We all dressed as a different Seuss characters on Book Character Day. As the good Doctor said......... "From here to there, funny things are everywhere!" That is how I would describe my teaching style, my attitude, and my classroom. You just never know what kind of fun we will have from day to day. It is a new experience daily!
My class wins the "behavior" reward almost every month! :) They love making the teacher happy. We won first prize for the door decorating contest for this year's Book Character Day 2013-2014. We recently had a project funded on Donors Choose . org for an iPad. The kids are very excited to use it. I have been nominated for teacher of the year four years in a row. Recently I was nominated for ESL teacher of the year 2013-2014 by my district.

I love to travel. My 87 year old daddy and I travel when we have breaks from school. We love shopping resale shops and garage sales to find things I can use in the classroom. Sometimes on our long travels, we come up with ideas for new activities. We now keep paper and pen handy so I can write down the ideas and then share them with all of you! :)
