Hello! My name is McKenzie Robinson and I am a special education teacher at East Midvale Elementary in Midvale, Utah. This past year, I spearheaded a project at our school to provide parents with resources to assist their children at home with academics and ran across your wonderfully designed materials!
Our school population comes from low-socioeconomic families of multiple ethnicities and nationalities that are highly transient. Our school was motivated to empower parents to work with their children on academic skills at home. However, when we encouraged parents to work with students at home, we were often met with the question, “How?” Many parents would love to assist their students but lack the knowledge of how to do so other than trying to complete homework. Other parents find that helping their students with homework results in conflict and frustration. We wanted to provide parents with a positive way to assist their students in academic skills.
Since developing this project for our school, the word has spread and many others are interested in implementing similar programs and are looking for assistance. I would like to share the resources I found with them.
Would you be willing to let me list your website and resources on this list of activities to share with others? I love your designs and feel they can truly help families around the world.

Thank you so much for the support!! Those letters were made before I actually started selling any kind of digital clip art, so I am sorry if they are a little odd..haha..
You can use the crop tool to delete one of the letters. I know this is a hassle, but I had made these for my own classroom while teaching and I had only wanted to print them out.
I hope the cropping tool will help out a bit; although, I do understand how that could be a pain. I will see what I can do to improve these..

Thank you so much for the complement!! I use a Cintiq 24HD to draw with (It is a monitor and pen) and I use the Adobe Creative Suite programs to create my art.
HOWEVER, I would not suggest going out and spending $10,000 on programs and graphic design tools..haha... There are many free apps and programs for small projects. Although the quality will not be nearly as clear, I have seen a great deal of great stuff created using Ipad apps. You can just Google search...

Good morning! I am a first grade teacher, formerly PK teacher. I just finished my masters in May (yea!) with a degree in Mind, Brain and Education – a subfield of education. The first program was started at Harvard by Howard Gardner and Kurt Fisher (if you haven’t read any of Kurt Fisher’s work on Skill Theory and you are interested in the cognitive processes involved in learning, you must read his work!)
Cut to the chase. When I moved up from PK to 1st I was shocked by my students’ lack of number sense. I spent an entire year and all last summer trying to figure out what was missing. In Nov I attended a workshop that on number sense. When I heard the presentation I recognized all the “big” names of the research I had been investigating. The workshop was a training session for an iPad app (Native Numbers). It seemed like a valid, robust app, but I am a skeptic and had to know: would this really work.
I am here to tell you that with the first skill set I saw every cognitive model of learning embedded in this app. I also realized that this app is more than a learning tool; it has built in formative and summative assessment as it is adaptive and levels up and down based on student performance and leads to mastery.
Now I am on a “mission” – everything we read tells us our students are lacking number sense. I believe this app is a fabulous tool to remediate those deficits. I have no vested interest in this app except that I am one of those people that has to solve problems and when I think I have found possible answers, I have to share that with others. Our kids are too important not to share---which is why I love reading blogs! I am asking for teachers to simply read the research and then try out the app and give me feedback---or give the feedback yourself to the developers. I am that convinced. I am not a salesman and I feel quite strange in this new role I have taken upon myself…but I have nothing to lose, or gain, except knowing that maybe we can have an enormous impact on our students!

Congratulations on completing your Masters degree!! I completed my Masters a few years ago and that is definitely something to be proud of!!
Thank you so much for all of the info. Although I am not teaching this year, I certainly agree that students (overall) do lack basic skills in mathematics. In my own research, I focused on reading; however, I found that it was not the teachers at fault, or the curriculum, but the schedule in grades K-3.
Students in grades K-3 are constantly pulled out for specials and other activities. The amount of transitioning time takes far too much time away from quality learning experiences. When I taught Kinder at a private school, my students stayed with me for the most part of the day. They did not need a "special" reading teacher or a specials teacher... I was the professional and I provided the curriculum for every student at every level. My students always left at the end of year at 1-2 grade levels above in reading and math.
While I was working on research and going from school to school, I found that the curriculum played a small part and the student's schedules impacted them greatly in these grade levels. The students who had more time in their general education class with their homeroom teacher were far more successful than students who were transitioned more frequently. This was true for both lower, middle and high-income areas.
I believe..or I hope that more research is done in these areas. Thank you for the math app. I am always looking for great math resources and I will definitely check this out and spread the word.

I do not believe that this option is just for premium sellers, but I could be wrong about that. If you do not see the option, I highly suggest that you contact TpT and ask them for further assistance. They will be able to tell you right away, whether you must have a premium account in order to place a banner on your store. That would be sort of strange if you did....

To upload the store banner, you will log onto your tpt dashboard and click on the link that says, "dress up your store" . Upload the banner for the appropriate size and then click okay or save. Tpt will need to approve the banner, but you should see it in your store within 24 hours.

I do not deal with Mac computers, but you will most likely need to change the settings for the frame positioning. Make sure to set the position to "move to back" or "behind text". I am not sure if these are options for you, but I hope this helps.. (-;

That is strange. There must be something going on... On your end because there have been quite a lot of successful downloads with no problems. I have come across a couple of other people who have had similar issues in the past, but I have never known why this happens.
The only alive I can give you at this time is to make sure you are downloading the file from a secured browser, that your computer has all of the necessary updates, and you are not using Firefox. Sometimes, the Firefox browser (which I never use due to their security issues) will flag a file as corrupt due to the file name or even the size of the file.
You can contact the tpt tech support and see if they can further help you or offer some better advice if nothing I have stated works; however, I would love to know what you find out. There have only been less than a handful of people that I have come across with this issue and I have never received an email back telling whether or not the issue was fixed and what the issue was caused from.
I am sorry that I could not be of more help to you. I am usually quite good at troubleshooting technology issues and I have just recently taken up the hobby of building pc's from scratch....I am no stranger to technology, but this issue seems to be from a browser or computer security setting...not sure. Do you take orders? I still need one for Athena, Hestia, Aphrodite, Poisedon and Zeus.
I would be fine with you recoloring clipart you've already done. For example, the ones you did for Atlanta, Pandora, and Demeter. I would be fine with a head shot that you recolored so they look different from the others. I really like the one you did of Atlas holding up the world. He looks like Zeus to me. Maybe you could recolor just his hair blond? If you'd rather not do it that way, I drew some sketches of a few of them that I like but I don't know how to make it into clipart. If you'd rather, we could go that route. The one I did of Athena is the head shot of Boticelli's Birth of Venus. Since you're an artist, you probablly know it. It is only one sided. If you staple the butterfly to a bulletin board, they will appear to be flying from a side view. Add a cut pipe cleaner to the head for the antenna and you will have yourself a cute pack of flying butterfly stories to display.
Hmmm, I had never thought that the one-sided butterfly might get confusing for some... I am going to need to look at that again and add a full butterfly...tehehehe

I am planning to use one of your free frames on a product I'm selling, and I'd like to offer my product in black and white also. TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have 4 years teaching experience teaching Kindergarten (which I love). I have also taught 7th grade Language Arts & middle school special education. I am not currently teaching this year (2012); however, I am getting to focus more time on things I love like, graphic arts & design.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I use any and all teaching styles I can think of. I love variety and keeping an energetic pace in the classroom. If I am bored – then it must feel like death to a six year old child. I have implemented many teaching styles, but I really enjoy one that I came up with (I am sure this is not my idea alone) – outdoor instruction. I really enjoy moving my class to the field or courtyard outside on occasion. I find that this technique stimulates the advanced students in my class the most. Since my students are required to know letter sounds before they enter the program, I often have a small group of excelling students who get bored waiting for others to finish. I have observed that outside instruction removes feelings of confinement; however, these styles of teaching are not so effective for students with learning disabilities, or have a hard time staying on task. I would not recommend this teaching style as a daily routine.
HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
I really believe most teachers would agree that the only awards and honors that really matter are the ones received from parents and students throughout the year. I often receive great letters of praise and encouragement from parents, telling me how much they appreciate what I am doing and what an impact I have been on their child. There is no greater feeling than to hear that your hard work is producing positive results, especially on the days I am feeling tired, drained, and overwhelmed. These are the awards that offer me the most encouragement and often serve as a reminder of why I am teaching (that is, because I want to get rich...ha ha).

I have earned the following degrees: Associates in Mathematics & Science Associates in Social & Behavioral Science BA in English Masters in Education with duel certification in K-8 Elementary Education & K-12 Special Education
