My administrator loved the fact that I was using your portable word walls in our writing folders. The students no longer need to leave their writing spaces and crowd around my word wall. I am using it with kindergarten- so I would love to have an easier version with easier sight words- but this is seriously perfect!

I love it. I can't wait for testing week to be over! I work with 4th and 5th grade students with reading disabilities at a 4th/5th grade school. My students will work with a partner, reading several books by the author of their choice. When ready, we will host a Reader's Cafe for the students in the reading fluency program on our k-3 site. Their school is just on the other side of the baseball field. My students will serve as hosts, practicing their social graces, while proudly reading to the young ones. Third graders will see their classroom for next year and meet their new teacher. If it goes as well as I think it will, Reading Cafe may become a new "bridging" activity to ease the transition to fourth grade.

Thanks! We do the seven habits at my school and one of them is begin with the end in mind. It really works well to make sure they understand the vocabulary before beginning the chapter. I am surprised at some of the things we assume kids know and they don't. Especially if you have been teacher forever like me! :)
