I also am only able to save these as a picture. I am unable to find an option to save them as PDF as recommended in your terms of use. This is my first attempt at saving a background to create neat looking worksheets, I would appreciate a little help explaining how I get them into PDF? Thank you much :)

No problem! You will just save them as a "picture" in your pictures file on your computer. Then, when you create something with them, you will need to click INSERT, and then PICTURE. Find the picture file that you saved it as, and then insert. As for the Terms of USE for PDF, it just means that if you are creating something to share or sell, you need to be sure you are only giving/selling a PDF or other secure type so that other people cannot copy my work from your work. Hope that makes sense! :)

I don't know how to use these. They save in my picture folder as a jpeg. So, then how do I use them? What am I doing wrong? How do people use them? I would like to use them as borders or backgrounds...how do I "insert" them, like I would clip art? Can you tell I'm an old dog trying to learn new tricks? :)

Once you have saved them as a JPEG, you can insert them as a "picture" in WORD or PowerPOINT, or other programs. You can then resize them for whatever size you would like. Just click INSERT, then PICTURE. Find where you saved the file, and click insert. :)
