I currently teach First Grade. I have taught both general education and special education students in Birth to Three programs, Three to Six programs, Head Start, Four-Year-old Kindergarten and Five-Year-Old Kindergarten. I have experience teaching at all elementary grade levels. I was an assistant manager at a teacher supply store and a Child Care director.
I like to provide high interest, experiential activities for my students. I enjoy creative activities that spark imaginations and provide hands - on learning expereiences. I provide an atmosphere where students can learn to inquire, ask questions, and make discoveries.

My name is Jo Ellyn Hetzer. I have been married to David Hetzer, a fellow educator since 1996. We have a lovely daughter. I enjoy watching her learn and grow. She is an inspiration for many of my activities. She is very creative and often guides me in discovering what children find naturally interesting.
