TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 27 years of teaching experience and although I have taught several different subjects, the bulk of my experience is teaching physical science to 8th graders and physics to 9th graders.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I prefer hands-on activities; inquiry based whenever possible. I am a "true believer" in the integration of technology into all classroom activities; I use online simulations when in-class labs are not possible. I also believe that humans learn more when they are relaxed and are able to laugh every once in awhile. My classes tend to be noisy, but busy. :)

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Most of my "honors and awards" have been in the athletic coaching arena, so they aren't applicable here.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

B.S. - Stephen F Austin State University 1985 M.S. - University of Texas at Austin - Exercise Physiology 1992 M. Ed. - Educational Technology, University of Missouri 2009 Ed.S. in Educational Technology with an emphasis on Technology in Schools 2011

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I've taught in Texas, New Mexico, and now in Colorado.
