I taught high school French and/or Spanish for nine years and am certified in both languages in Massachusetts and New York. I'm currently home with my kids and am raising them bilingually. In my free time, I tutor/teach adult classes at a language center and teach pre-schoolers in my home.
I am a big believer in active learning. The more fun and interesting the lessons, the more the students get involved and the more language they learn.
* One of sixteen teachers selected from across the country for a Fulbright-Hays Scholarship to travel and study in Mexico for a month. * Recipient of a high school education grant to create a foreign language library for our department.
* Wellesley College - B.A. French, minor in Education, semester abroad in Paris, studying at Jussieu and with NYU program. * Harvard - Continuing Education class in Spanish * Middlebury College - M.A. in Spanish * Fulbright-Hays Scholar - traveled around Mexico for a month, studying the language, culture and people
While raising my two kids bilingually, I have watched the language learning process first-hand. Learning a language should be a fun, natural activity, not just a bunch of flashcards and verb charts. I strive to make every product fun for students and teachers, while using the target language as much as possible.
