Hi Erin! Sure, I could do that for you. What's your e-mail address? I had a baby 9 days ago, so I may not get to it for a few days. :)
Is that OK? I could e-mail you and let you know when it's ready. Please let me know. My e-mail is TheHappyTeacherTPT@gmail.com

I love the posters! These are wonderful for individual, partner, or class practice of skip counting. I was wondering, do you have a font that doesn't 'curl' the 9? My kids often have difficulty identifying the 6 and 9. I like the 9 that is 'a circle and a line make 9'. If so, could you update the file to include the posters with that font instead? Thanks so much! Rhonda

Hi Happy Teacher,
I was wondering how the Part-Part Whole Units (monster, heart, and "star") are different from one another. Is the only difference in each unit the theme or does each unit practice part part whole in a different manner? Thanks for your help!

TheHappyTeacher  (TpT Seller)
Hi Catherine! Great question! The part-part-whole units are similar because they are all practicing sums and differences to 18, but the actual cards are different in each set. The format of the "star" set is also different because it's set up as a worksheet/printable, whereas the monster and heart sets are task cards. Hope this helps! :)
Let me know if you have any more questions!
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm intested in starting to sell some of the things I've created on TPT too and was wondering if you could tell me how you go about getting a copyright on the materials you create?
Thanks for any advice you can give!

The good news is that your materials are protected by copyright laws automatically! It's a good idea to put your name/logo on everything you create to remind users that the material is protected under copyright laws. Additionally, I always add a clause at the end of my products that says something like this...

Copyright © 2012 TheHappyTeacher
All rights reserved by author.
Permission to copy for single classroom use only.
Electronic distribution limited to single classroom use only.
Not for public display.

Good luck selling your materials! TpT is a wonderful place, and I know you will enjoy it. Please feel free to e-mail me at TheHappyTeacherTPT@gmail.com if you have any additional questions or need some help getting started. :)

Hi!! I am new to this whole TPT thing and I am starting to create some of my own items. I have a question, how do you create your back grounds?? For example, on your skip counting posters, the zigzag background and the bubble on top where you put the text. How do you do that?? I love that design and would like to create some assessments with that in the background. :) Thank you! Erin

Hey Erin! Welcome to TPT! :)
I purchase the backgrounds and graphics I use from various websites. I insert the background to my document and "send it to the back." Then, I add another image (such as the bubble) on top of the zigzag background. So basically it's two separate images stacked on one another. To add text, I just insert a text box and type away! :) Feel free to e-mail me at TheHappyTeacherTPT@gmail.com if you have any other questions. Hope you enjoy TPT as much as I do!!

Hello,

I just have a quick question. I am a new teacher looking to make my own sign, labels, etc for my classroom. I was curious about how you make the background for your printables. Is it a certain program that you use to design them? Thank you for your time and many blessings to you.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

In 2006, I student taught in a dynamite 3rd grade classroom in Tallahassee, FL. I had two incredible mentor teachers that really influenced my teaching style. My first "official" teaching job was in Boise, Idaho. I taught morning and afternoon Kindergarten for a year. I swore I'd never teach another grade because I loved Kindergarten so much! In 2008, I moved to Texas and began teaching first grade. I recently accepted a position as an Instructional Specialist in Reading & Math (K-2) for my district.

MY TEACHING STYLE

100% Constructivist. I love to watch the light bulb go off for children when they are working in literacy stations and small groups. Children must build and create their own knowledge through meaningful and relevant learning experiences. The teacher has an important role, as guide and facilitator. As William Butler Yeats once said, “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.”

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

General Educator of the Year (2010-2011), Recipient of UNT’s Laurem Christian Robertson Memorial Scholarship (May 2011), Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida State University (May 2007)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Master's in Curriculum & Instruction in 2012. My coursework has given me tremendous insight of effective teaching and instruction, and I would love to share this with others! I completed my undergraduate coursework in Elementary Education at Florida State University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I got married in December 2011 in Highlands, NC. We had a fairytale, winter wedding! My husband and I are loving every minute of being "Newlyweds" and we are so excited about starting our family very soon! We have one pet, a kitty cat, who is affectionately named Boise! Boise is incredibly playful, sweet, and a great snuggler! In my free time, I enjoy reading, shopping, running, and doing projects around the house. I can't get enough of TeachersPayTeachers and Pinterest, and sometimes I wonder how we ever lived without these incredible resources! :)
