knittingandreading re: Marvelous Myths - Greek Myth Reading - Unit 2
I bought the myth unit recently and was quite excited to use it. However, there are MANY errors. My class has read three myths so far (Zeus, Athena, and Icarus) and each myth has typos. Most are small, but in the Icarus myth, there are some major errors (i.e. "Daedalus was sentences to love on an island work for King..."). These prevent my third graders from being able to read it accurately. In addition, the family trees are not organized correctly. I am very disappointed in the quality of this unit. Is there an updated, revised and correct version? I noticed feedback from other buyers that this is not the first time the complaint has been made. I also bought this in April, so corrections should have been made.

Chrissy Bryant  (TpT Seller) re: Guess The Word - Pre Primer Dolch Word Sight Word Game
i would like to purchase you pre-primer sight word game to add to the freebie, but i want letter cards for all the letters of the alphabet as well. the freebie is missing the letters:
g, j, k, p, q, s, u, x, y, z

if i purchase the pre-primer set will i still be missing some of the letters of the alphabet? i'd love a set of the ladybug cards w/ all the letters so my preschool can use the uppercase magnet letters we have to match w/ the lowercase and my kinder son can play Guess the Word.

I'm looking at your myth unit, and was wondering if there were any myths included that I might be able to find a parallel nonfiction article on. I'm trying to locate resources, such as a myth and nonfiction article, that would both be explanations of a certain topic. I'd like student to write about the similarities and differences found in both texts. Thanks!

I just downloaded your free presidential sentences product and I found what I think to be an error. It should read february 12th instead of february 12nd in regards to Lincoln's birthday. Just an FYI!

Not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but what do you use on the pages that say examples....magazine pictures, printouts, or draw the objects? Also, it says to use your molecule pieces to show what they look like. Is there a place that I can find those? Thanks so much.

Is there any way the font could be changed? The upside down looking "s" is confusing and if there are 2 "L" together they are so close you can't tell there are 2.

I will be adding one on Saturday. The assessments are open-ended questions, so the answer key will be more like a rubric of unacceptable, acceptable, and exceeding answers.

Sorry I am just now getting back to you!

If you ever need to reference this, I have a post about it on my blog at: http://thelocoteacher.blogspot.com/2012/03/im-90s-kid.html

The Cheese - I shred the cheese with a grater so it goes from a solid to a solid.
The Orange - I cut it open, so it is still a solid. But then I squeeze the juice from it so it is now also a liquid.
The mystery substance is pudding. The mix is a solid and the milk is a liquid, and we discuss what state of matter the end result is.

I use the Let's make a Prediction page for the experiments we do. So if we were changing a solid into a liquid (ice into water), I would have them write and draw the steps of the experiment. So they would draw the materials in the beginning (ice). Then they would predict what was going to happen when I explain the experiment, such as adding heat. Then they would draw what the end result was when the experiment was over (water). The last box is for them to explain if their prediction was correct or not.

Creating something new was just an additional page if you have further experiments you would like to personally do.

I hope that helps! I apologize again for my late response.

Hi! Thanks so much for sharing this matter resource. I think the last page of the book should be about changing a gas in two ways, but the word in the box says 'solid.' Then the first sentence mentions changing a gas, but the second sentence says solid again. The matter book is amazing! I just wanted to let you know about the last page.

What is the non-example column for?
February 21, 2012 Report inappropriate comment
TheLocoTeacher
TheLocoTeacher  (TpT Seller)
if the fraction is 3/4, a non-example would be leaving 3/4 of it NOT shaded and 1/4 shaded. I talk with my students a lot about easy mistakes to make or rules that are easy to forget, such as counting the shaded part or drawing equal pieces. So that is the non-example is for, for my class at least.
