Judy Wright  (TpT Seller) re: Clip Art - Primary Crayons
According to your description, there are 73 images in this package. When I downloaded it, there were only 24: 12 single crayons with color, and 12 singles crayon blacklines. Can I please get the rest.

I'm so sorry--I don't know how that could happen. I'll check into it and get back to you.

I just checked the download and everything came through fine. I think something went wrong during your download. Could you download the product again? If that doesn't work I'd be happy to send you the items on a disk. (The file is too big for me to email it.) Please let me know right away if the problem continues. I'm very sorry for the trouble--teachers are very busy people!
Sincerely, Sandie

Hi Anne, thanks for your encouragement! You commented a while back about changing the product to use for my primary freebie which was very helpful. I reconfigured a unit I had started, but by the time I finished it, TpT had changed its policy on freebies, so I wasn't able to use it here! It's hard to fit an integrated unit in 10 pages, but my new primary freebie is an attempt! (I'm not sure the theme is very far reaching, though.) Anyway, your comments were very productive and helpful, and I thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful suggestions! Have a wonderful year of selling!

Greetings, fellow Gold Rush Country teacher! I love your work--it is absolutely beautiful. I purchased a license from you for Seasons of the Apple Tree. I have written a little reading book called "The Seasons of the Apple Tree" that will be used in 7 classrooms in El Dorado County, using your illustrations. Is this an ok thing to do? I will flatten the images to the page and give credit to you. Should I purchase a license for each classroom? I can send you a copy of the book if you like. I just want to make sure I'm not infringing upon your rights as an author/illustrator--and this can get very confusing!

Hello Neighbor--Isn't this the greatest place on earth to live? I could do without the fires, though.

All my clip art (not that I have all that much) is sold with the license for personal and commercial use, so that you can use it on any items you make for yourself, to sell, or to give away, as long as you are a teacher selling or giving directly to other teachers. You can't give away the images or the image files themselves, alone--the images have to be part of something you created, in this case, your book.

The license wouldn't include giving the book to your school district for them to use and distribute, because they aren't a teacher, but you (as a teacher) can give it (and/or sell it) to any, and every, teacher you want. You don't need to purchase any additional licenses.

This special license applies to all my clip art, but it doesn't apply to any of my other types of products. It's a special license for clip art alone.

Two different types of licenses for two different types of products! And this only applies to my stuff. Other people have different licenses for their clip art. You're right--it's really confusing, so thanks for asking the question, and for your vote of confidence. It's a scary thing putting stuff out for sale to other people!

Have a great year!

Thank you,

Hi Karen!

Thanks for asking! If you convert your products to PDF files, the images will flatten to the page and they are harder to lift off. Here's how to make a PDF file in any Microsoft Office product (and I imagine other applications work the same way):

File Menu--go to Save As
At the bottom of the Save As screen is the place you type in the name of the file. Underneath that is the "Save As Type" bar. At the far right of that bar is an arrow. Click on it and a drop down menu appears showing you all the types of files you can use. Select PDF and the images will be flattened.

In the beginning I used to offer all my products as PDF and also as Word products. That way people could customize them any way they wanted. But no one has ever bought a "Word" product so I stopped offering them. In a Word, Power Point, or Publisher file the images are not flattened. Anyone using one of those files can simply copy the image and add it to their clip art files--that's why most clip art sellers want the image flattened. Once it's saved as PDF it becomes much harder (although not impossible) to "lift" the art work.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions, and thanks for using the product!

I recently downloaded your 2012-2013 Artful Teaching Planner. I LOVE it! However, I am only able to open up the PDF files. I'd really like to be able to edit the documents in Word before I print them. There is an issue with the text encoding.
Is there anyway you could email me the documents?

Sure. The original was made using Microsoft Publisher (my favorite software). I'll convert it to Word for you, but it'll take me a few hours. I'll get it to you ASAP. I may have trouble emailing, though, since the files are so huge, so I'll repost a new version that contains the Word files, and you can download it again. I'll send you an email when I get the new file uploaded.

Just to be sure--was it Artful Teaching or Learner's Workshop? Learner's Workshop is the item listed on my sales info.

Thanks for letting me know this is important to you, and for your kind comments.

I saw your posting on the Sellers Forum page of Teachers Pay Teachers; so, I thought I would look at your freebie. I left you a rating.

I have a few suggestions that might help you to better market your products. First, create a cover page which can then be used as an attractive thumbnail to entice buyers. Add a second page which is a directions or suggestions page. List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product. Use the footer to put the copyright symbol, your name and date of creation on EVERY page. Items, especially free ones, have been "stolen" from TPT and posted on other sites to be sold. You have to protect all of your creations.

If you have time, I’d appreciate your input on my freebie listed below. It is a 21 slide power point on water.

Hi Sandie! I purchased your Rainforest Rendevous and love it! I read for the job tree you can change the names of the jobs to personalize it, but I am having a difficult time figuring out how to change it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much for your colorful fun Rainforest classroom helpers!

Hi Cynthia, I'm sorry you're having trouble changing the job names. There should be 2 files for each of the helpers charts--one is a PDF, and the other is a Microsoft Word document. You can't change the PDF file, but if you open the Word doc file you should be able to double click on the words and just retype your own title. If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll send you the files on a disk. The same thing is true with typing student names. You have to use the Word file to enter their names.

Again, if this doesn't work, please let me know so I can figure out what the problem is!

Thanks for the feedback,
Sandie

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began teaching in high school, when I got my first job as an aide in a neighborhood day care center. My second day on the job it was just me (16 years old) and 24 four year olds. I loved that job! I began a long career of learning, observing, evaluating, constructing, redoing, changing, inventing, growing, making, and living, back there at the preschool. During the 33 years I spent working in schools, 24 of them were spent as a general education classroom teacher. I spent 4 years working as a support teacher (resource specialist and intervention teacher) and 5 years as a special day class teacher. I enjoy diversity and change, so I rarely taught the same grade two years in a row, and more than half of my career was spent in multi-graded classrooms. This gives me a pretty broad perspective!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Everything I have done since starting out as a preschool teacher has been focused on thematic instruction that is child centered and designed to make learning real. I believe that children have really learned something when their view of the world has changed as a result of their educational activities. I believe actively involving children in their learning through simulation games and reproducing "real life" experiences, while immersing them in science, social studies, and art content is a great way to truly change their knowledge and understanding, no matter what their age or developmental level.
