I love the story, I hadn't seen it before. The only suggestion I would make is to differentiate some of the puzzles by eliminating lines here and there.

I put this in my students' H.E.R.O binders and the parents love it! For some reason, our district is slacking in the info they provide parents about these new standards. I'm glad to be able to get my kids off to a fresh start. Can you please clarify the meanings of the pictures, though? I thought it was a part-whole or basic-to-in-depth thing? Thanks!

Sandra, thanks for the feedback! That's exactly why I made it, for a quick, 1 page reference for parents without all the teacher-speak. The parents in my class seem to like it too. The pictures are literally from a trip to the apple orchard I took with my kids! There's no deeper meanings, I just wanted something apple-y;)

I really liked the activity sheets. I especially liked that Shelisa gave an idea for a cheap laminate (gallon plastic bag). My son practiced his spelling words tonight without argument or procrastination. This can be compared to our second spelling activity of the evening, which was wholly unpopular. We will use it again.

I have only made a few componets to the binders I will be using in my kindergarten class. I will continue to post some individual pages, but I do not have a set. After I use the binders this year, I will plan on tweaking and making a set for TPT.
