My only criticism is that the strategies take an enormous amount of time, and I had several students who simply could not handle them. If your students are generally mature enough for them, they are quite thorough and helpful.

Yes, you must begin them early for 3rd graders since they have never tested. They need LOTS of practice. This year I had a handful of students who could not remember them so that is why I instituted the song and the checklist. I also used Vistaprint to make magnets for parents.
I am planning to make a video (as soon as my Elmo is repaired) and add it to this listing so teachers can see how I use them. I'm a visual learner and I think this product needs to be seen in use:). If you would like me to change the posters and their numbers for you, I will do so at no extra charge. Let me know what will work for you and I will re-work your posters to fit your needs.

It would be nice to have both meanings on the cards, not just the one meaning. One meaning is fine for students who have a broader vocabulary base, but to differentiate it would be helpful if the other definitions were included.

I was merely saying that it would be nice to be able to provide extra support to some students through the use of an additonal meaning. We used this activity the way you designed it, but I supplemented some additional cards for a group of students who were unable to determine the second meaning. I purchased the activity because of the inclusion of higher order thinking skills. Since we have been working with multiple meaning words for a over a week, I used the pencil cards as a quick formative assessment tool. It was a quick and easy tool to assess their skills.

This activity was intended to elicit higher level thinking skills through thinking, problem solving and questioning. It is not a matching game or concentration game where students match one word with 2 or 3 meanings. If you need a concentration game, I am happy to make one for you at no cost to you:)

I have an art degree which I loved earning. Oh yes, it does make a difference when you can put it together visually! Wow, you have an advertising degree...how wonderful. You are so talented! My love of art has given me so much pleasure in life. (I designed and planted an English garden over 35 years ago which I still maintain.) It also makes you a better teacher.
If you ever need any frames, backgrounds or photos let me know. I have quite a collection which I like to use to help other creators. (I know you can create your own but I might be able to save you time.) Yes, I am retired and taught for 35 years in a large city. I know how hard teachers work and just love seeing how smart and creative they are!!! I am so happy I have the chance to be able to explore the internet. I love reading about the last research on the brain in connection which learning. I spend more time reading and learning then creating! So, if you need any information I will help you. Helping others is my happiness.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I've been teaching for 9 years. I've taught PK-7th Grade, except 1st and 7th. I teach in Texas and use the TEKS. For the most part, I've taught Reading and Reading Strategies. I have taught in a variety of school districts. My teaching career began in a rural district where I taught reading for an entire Junior High School. Then, I moved on to a suburban district where I had weekly parent volunteers and 2 room moms. Now, I teach in an urban district at a Title 1 School. I've been teaching at this school for 7 years. Currently, I'm a departmentalized Reading/Social Studies Teacher. I am also the LPAC Chair for ESL. At my school, many teachers look to me for creative lesson plans and/or our state assessment, STAAR prep.
MY TEACHING STYLE
My teaching style is to teach Texas TEKS with a creative touch. I try hard to differentiate my lessons so that all my students can learn and be successful. My store is definitely geared toward Upper Elementary Teachers. My goal is to provide teachers with easy prep centers and other activities. I like to get my students up, moving and talking.
HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
*Nominee for "Teacher for the Year" 3 years. *I've never had below 85% of my students pass the state assessment, STAAR. *Voyager Gold-Star Teacher with over 90% of Kindergarden Students Reading on Grade Level. *Campus LPAC Chairperson
MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
I graduated from Texas Tech University and went on to own an Embroidery and Screen-Printing Business. We worked many trade shows and I was able to utilize my creativity through marketing. I enjoyed owning a company, but I felt drawn to teaching. Eventually, I went through alternative certification and became a teacher.
