I have taught both middle school and elementary school for 15 years. My early love in teaching was science but have branched out to include english language arts/ reading.

I like to have my students engaged. I use a great deal of hands-on group based learning. Many of my assessments are art and project based.

I have been very lucky to receive an fellowship grant from NSF. I particpated in this grant for 5 years, and have been given opportunities to present at many national conferences on project and art based learning. I am a trained FOSS and Project Learning Tree instructor. I was also published in the Teacher Education Journal of South Carolina, Fall 2008.

I have a master's degree in Elementary Education . I am also Gifted and Talented endorsed , and have earned middle level science specialist certification.
