I have been using these as a challenge for my students to complete as they have a few minutes throughout the day. When they have four tasks complete, I check them and then they move to work on another four. Most of them are about half way through the entire deck.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for twelve years now! Eleven of the years has been in first grade and one year in kindergarten. First grade is my passion and could not see myself teaching any other grade.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I believe in guiding my students to develop their own strategies in both reading and math. I give them the tools and support to make them feel comfortable to take risks.
HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
I am a 2012 Wisconsin State Finalist for the Presidental Award for Excelence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). I am one of two state finalists from Wisconsin for teaching Mathematics. I will find out in June 2013 if I am chosen for the national award. I am a full time elementary teachers as well as a math coach for my building in grades K-2. I am honored to be the first grade math cadre representative for my school district. This means I am a mentor for new teachers as well as veteran teachers in my district.
MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
I have a master's degree in both reading and math. I have also completed the math ADDVantage+MR training, which I use in my classroom regularly.
ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
I teach in west central Wisconsin. I am married and have 3 children all under the age of 6! Along with teaching I also coach high school swimming and run my own competitive swimming stroke clinics.
