I actually just read a post by on a thread about a school board that posted your work for free. I am an Ontario teacher as well (York Region) and am wondering about whether or not school boards, as our employers, have any "rights" to our intellectual property in Canada. Would you know anything about that, or know of any resources about that sort of thing?
I hope your issue was resolved in the end!
I realize this post is not about your products, but I'm not sure how else to contact you :) If you're willing to exchange a few emails about copyright issues in Canada, I would love any advice you have to offer! Thank you! aggie.gasior@gmail.com

Hi aggie!
They ended up taking it down which was good but they didn't offer to pay the additional license price I offered which was a little frustrating.
As long as you don't use school time or resources it is fine. If you are in a position such as literacy coach etc it gets a little fuzzier but for a classroom teacher using your own time and computer it is fine :). My admin are awesome and encourage me and ask how sales are :).
I usually post all my products for free on my boards file sharing for my colleagues. :)

I like your facebook product, and I think it's a great way to get kids to meet each other at the beginning of the year, but I'm wondering. Are you allowed to use the facebook logo for something that you're selling? I created something for my students to use for book projects in Reading, but called it "schoolbook" so that there wouldn't be any copyright infringement. Or am I being too cautious?

Our schools gifted grade 6 teacher used these with her class and they enjoyed them. They aren't too 'cutesy', the learning skills reflection may be a little 'easy' for that age group but the question prompts themselves should be pretty open for higher grades and it is regular spaced lines not primary style lines. Using a harder/deeper book would really be the key to extending it to older kiddos, I think!
I currently have a promotion on where you can buy 1 item and get 1 free (equal or lesser value) if you leave feedback, so if something else caught your eye you could use it as your freebie if you are still unsure!

The file is in SMARTnotebook, so if you do not have that software it won't let you open. I can find another file type but I'm worried it may not provide all the elements you may need (mainly it would no longer be 'editable').
Send me an e-mail and I can try to solve it for you. Let me know what type of programs you are able to use and I will try to find a suitable alternative.

I don't usually use rubrics, we use co-created success criteria and level based on that :). I would look for things like:
-Includes an appropriate example of each type of community
-pictures are relevant to the type of community
-Sentence explains the key elements of the type of community

Hi there!
The icons on the dice should correspond to the Depth and Complexity icons (I just added in the extra "My reflections and connections" as there are 11 icons and 12 spots on the cube). The other cube is just some samples of halloween topics. The icons are part of a framework by Sandra Kaplan to help enrich student thinking. You may find my 'anchor charts of primary grades" helpful to remind students what each of the icons stand for.
How I use the cubes is students roll a halloween topic and a 'dept and complexity icon'. They then discuss/write/poster/etc about that...for example if I rolled "Costumes" and "Trends" I may discuss the way costumes change based on popular movies, how younger kids costumes vary from older kids, how costumes have changed from earlier years to current etc.

Materials for all centers combined:
-At least one toy car that students can
“tinker” with (A small hot wheels type car is
fine).
-Variety of materials to ‘alter’ the car with (e.g.,
Masking tape, paper, straws, plasticine, scissors,
string, pipecleaners, etc)
-A flat surface to create an inclined plane (I
used the wood slat from a shelf)
-Something standard to raise the incline plane
an equal distance for each group (2 math
textbooks worked for me)
-Stop Watch
-Foam insulation for plumbing. If only one is
being made at a time you probably need about
a metre and a half but I recommend doing this
activity in partners as kids can hardly wait for
their turn or share four ways.
-A Marble
-Masking Tape
-Paper Clips
-Magnets
-Blank White paper (I used Ledger Size)
-Computer/Laptop/Smartboard with
internet access
- Vocabulary cards provided (printed,

I use it to plan our the story with the kids before they get onto the iPad. So i have them decide what their story will be about, which characters they will use etc, so when we get the iPads out they are ready to roll :)

The letters are size 60 in "Like a Skyscraper" by Kimberly Geswin Font.
I don't have an editable doc for the words, I use the "Word Wall Words for Upper Grades" file (from my store too--Free!!!) and I just print it on Blue paper to match.

This product includes 5 centers, the topics are:
Shadows
Buoyancy
Leaves
Reflections/Mirrors
Rocks
Each center has 4 different levelled sheets (plus further follow up) to target different skills or reach a different level of learner. Students will develop the following skills:
Inquiry
Determining a problem or area of interest
Creating Hypothesis
Testing Hypothesis
Creating a procedure
Testing a procedure
Making observations
Drawing conclusions/making inferences from data/observations
Making connections to real world (Separate sheet included with each center with real world prompts)
Completing guided follow up activity (In more if a 'standard science experiment style in which the topic and instructions are provided students complete activity and respond after doing the independent inquiry).

You need a projector of some sort or I suppose you could print it and put it on an overhead but a projector type thing works best.
It isn't really a set of lessons more of a cooperative learning activity-would be great as a formative assessment and it gets the kids up and moving.
For activities like this I would co-create the success criteria with my kiddos, asking them about how to answer as well as how to behave during a class activity.
The preview file explains the activity in a bit more detail :)

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
This coming year I will be teaching grade 3 again! I am thrilled because I love love LOVE that age group! I'm also working at a brand new school so that will be fun! I love my little learners and how much they want to know! I love to laugh, learn and love with my kiddos each day! Grade taught: 7ELA, 2/3 Gifted and Talented, 3 Homeroom.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I love using Tribes activities to engage kids in a classwide theme (survivor, Harry potter, the amazing race) to work with their tribe. I also love integrating technology as all my students are digital natives!
HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
I have several "Best teacher Ever" awards from various 7 and 8 year olds...It's sort of a big deal.
