georgiagreenberg re: Managing Frustration and Anger
I am interested in your topic, but would like a more information about the materials.
What techniques/ideas do you focus on teaching?
How long a program/book is this?
Does it have pages/pictures for the students or is it primarily information for teachers?
Do you use color?
Thank you for your help!

These materials are specifically related to taking and evaluating data for specifics behaviors in the classroom/school setting. Each section (i.e. Managing frustration and anger) is approximately 3-5 pages with a description of how to take data and charts that can be used when taking data. It is primarily for teachers, although some sections have self monitoring charts for students and is in black/white. I hope this helps!

Hi Tish!

Would it be possible for you to work on a "how to collect and organize data" manual?? I think this can be a tricky topic to get first! I think this would be super helpful in addition to your behavioral forms.

Thanks!

I am not sure exactly which product you are referring to, but each topic has 2-3 forms (covering individual & classroom), with the exception of a few that just cover an individual. This also includes a behavior summary after each topic. I hope I have answered your question!

akapell1 re: Managing Frustration and Anger
What types of forms are included in the managing frustration and anger packet? Are they teacher assessment or student assessment?

I have recently accepted an EBD teaching position. I will be in a self-contained classroom with six boys ranging from third to fifth grade. I have previously been teaching first grade, so this is a big change for me. Do you know of any other resources that will help me prepare to meet these students' needs?

The managing frustration and anger form can be used by both teacher and student. The purpose it to focus on use of adaptive coping strategies for instances of managing frustration and anger. It is quite appropriate in a self contained EBD classroom. I think one of the first things to do is to make sure the behavioral plan for the classroom is well constructed. Will there also be a therapeutic component to the classroom?

Tish,
Some of your materials seem interesting but with no pictures I would not spend any money. I say this in the most sincere way to help you sell more! I bet if you added photos your work would come to life.

tinathan re: Empowering Educators: Common Behavior Problems
Hello,

Can you give me an idea of what type of behaviors are included in this workbook? Also, was this written solely from your experience or are the suggestions in this book backed by research as well?

Thank you!
Tina

Dear Tina,
The problem behaviors covered in the workbook include on task behavior, beginning assignments in a timely manner, disruptive talking, bullying, noncompliant behavior, and disruptive and aggressive behavior. The positive behaviors included in the workbook are positive character traits, social behaviors, self help skills, and anger management. The data collection principles are written from research based sources and common data collection procedures. I have created the forms from my own experience.
I hope this answers your questions.
Sincerely,
Tish Taylor
