Hi, my name is Melinda Crean and I have been a teacher for 9 years in Western Australia. I mainly teach the primary years: 1-7. I have been involved in mentoring programs for beginning teachers as well as teaching trainee teachers. More information about my experience can be found here: http://topnotchteaching.com/about/. I also coordinate a bridging program at a University that assists prospective students in gaining entry to University courses.
I believe that all students should experience success in learning. I incorporate experiences where students succeed, an environment where they are not afraid to 'have a go' and I relate learning to real life experiences. I encourage self-motivation and self-regulation to promote ownership of learning.
I graduated from my teaching degree with first class honours. I also received the Miles Medal for Excellence in Education (dux of year).
I completed a Bachelor of Education (primary), first class honours at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia.
I am passionate about K-7 education and how we can better ourselves as teachers to provide more quality opportunities for our students.
