How many parts does this script have? Thanks!

It has a narrator and then you can make as many state groups as you want. Last time we did it, I divided the states into regions - the script allows you to have as many or as few state parts as you need.

SraCruise re: Great Glyphs
Hi Traci! I love glyphs and just had a quick question about your product. When you say in the Product Overview that the download includes directions and patterns, are the patterns a blackline master of, for example, a snowman or butterfly, that the students draw or color on? Or are the glyphs made out of construction paper that have to be prepped using the patterns? Sometimes I have the time to prep stuff like that, and sometimes I need a quick blackline to copy, so it's good to know which one this might be.
Thank you for your help!

I teach 4th grade - so most are the directions - I just put construction paper in the middle of tables and let them make them, with no patterns. The t-shirt is a pattern, but the others are not. We actually are buddying with a Kindergarten class at a neighboring school - and we made penguins with them - no pattern - and they came our precious! I personally like when they all look different - not just a coloring sheet!

Common Core Connection
Common Core Connection  (TpT Seller) re: Back To School Bus Glyph
Hi Traci, I enjoyed your product. Thanks for sharing!

I just listed a new type of Sight Word PowerPoint for Kindergarten and First Grade. It is listed under First 50 Sight Words PowerPoint. It includes the words in isolation and within the context of sentences with picture support. I wondered if you might consider taking a look at the free 4 slide preview to see if it might be something you could use. Thanks! Anne Gardner

I can't buy your product because Teachers pay teachers, but it is priced at $2.50 and the minimum purchase is $3.00. So that is unfortunate. Any way around that/

Hi! I purchased your flat stanley unit awhile ago, and am currently using it. I was looking at the Ven diagram you have listed for ch. 1 and 2, but there is no mailing mae character in the story. scanning aheard for chapter 2,4,5 who is Lily Lafferty? I don't remember such a character I will reread though.

Mailing Mae is a picture book by Michael Tunnel. I read it to the class when they get to the chapter where Stanley is mailed to California. We talk about the similarities, then, they do a Venn diagram comparing the characters from the 2 books.

Here is a link - it is pretty popular, so you could probably get it from your library.

It is my understanding that this is a free download. When I tried to review the document, I was told it is unavailable. Why?

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began teaching 1st graders at a low income school. I've also taught 2nd grade, 1st/2nd multiage classes, 3rd/4th multiage classes, and am currently a gifted inclusion teacher. I go in and team teach the gifted students in the regular classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My class is very "busy" - we usually have 100 things going on at once. I utelize a project based approach to teaching and try to teach my students to become independent, critical thinkers.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I received the Sally Mae Outstanding New Teacher Award for the best 1st year teacher in my school district. I have also received many grants from a variety of sourses. I have been voted Teacher of the Year by my peers at two different schools.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from LSU in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. In 2005, a week before Hurricane Katrina, I completed my master's degree in gifted education. I am working on National Board Certification for the 2008 - 2009 school year.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am the mother of 3 children - an 11 year old son, and 6 year old boy/girl twins. They have all been identified as academically gifted, which convinced me to seek a degree in this area.
