Hi....I do have the readings that I've used for this activities, but they are parts of other lessons I have posted (Life in Athens, Life in Sparta, Monarchy and Oligarchy in Ancient Greece,Tyranny and Democracy in Ancient Greece). I've always used these as a set of consecutive lessons leading up to the one you purchased, Choosing a Greek City-State. I had tried putting everything together (into a multi-part lesson), but the scans of the texts are too big to upload into one item on this site. Hope this helps!

Hi...you're absolutely right. The pictures were in a powerpoint for that lesson, but the site does not let me upload more than one file for a particular item. This reading should work fine and in my opinion, doesn't need to be adapted at all. All the images I included in the guide are taken from graphic novel. When I read it with my class, half had the book and half had the graphic novel, and everything went perfect.

Hello, I have just purchased your unit on Jamestown and the Powhatan, and it looks great! I can't wait to begin the discussion with my daughters. From where do you expect the student to get most of the information about Jamestown and Powhatan? Fortunately, we were able to visit Jamestown a couple of years ago, and it was a wonderful, enriching experience.

For my ancient Greece unit, I actually dont think I any many quizzes. For that unit our assessment was a persuasive speech. The other units I have (India, China, 3 major religions, and I think Rome) all have quizzes and tests, and Egypt has a written assessment like the Greece unit. I've purchased quite a few lessons from you. I really like the way you incorporate ELA in the S.S.lesson. What do SARR and SWBAT stand for? I'm assuming it's some sort of reading strategy.

Hi..sorry for any confusion, sometimes I write to lessons with my own abbreviations because Ive gotten so used to it. SWBAT just means students will be able to, and SARR mean scan, ask a question, read and return (so its kind of like a pre-reading strategy). I just checked and I have the powerpoint for the Confucius lesson, only this site lets me upload only one file. If you want, give me your email and I will send it along to you. I wouldnt charge for it, since it really goes with a lesson youve paid for.

Hey...ASC is answer, support comment. So typically the first sentence is the answer that answers the question being asked. 3 s's...supporting comments that support the answer. And then the c, which is the closing/comment, which wraps up the paragraph and closes it out. 5 sentences total. Hope this helps!

I recently downloaded your Christianity in Ancient Rome and the Bone Church of Santa Maria. As part of you product description and lesson preview it states that all passages will be included with the purchase of the lesson plan. However, after purchasing it I realized that the first passage about the Rise of Chrisitianity in Ancient Rome was not included. While I do like the Bone Church portion of this lesson, I don't see the point to providing questions when you dont offer the corresponding reading because now I must find one and alter questions to fit that reading and I thought tha by purchasing this lesson that I would be able to avoid doing that. Is this a mistake? And if so can you please send me that corresponding reading. Thank you.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am a 5th year teacher of Humanities, a combination of literacy and social studies. I taught 7th grade Humanities for 2 years and am currently in my 3rd year of teaching 6th grade Humanities.
MY TEACHING STYLE
With my teaching style, I like to incorporate all types of resources to meet all different types of learning (such as readings, writing, pictures, video, music, etc). Students in my class are constantly challenged and get the most out of our class time every day. All students participate and never will you see a student with their head on their desks, slouching in their chair or without something in their hand to write with.

I majored in English, minored in History at Fordham University in NYC. Also through Fordham University, I have received my Masters Degree in Childhood Education.
ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Many of my lesson are Humanities based, and thus are a combination of Social Studies and Literacy. In the 6th grade we focus on the ancient civilization of the world. Thanks to teaching, I have been able to travel to many of the places I teach about, and always try to incorporate as much as I can from my travel into my lesson.
