ltilse re: Common Core Learning Maps for Third Grade Math Unit 4
I think your common core maps look fabulous! Can you please tell me what each unit consists of? I couldn't tell which topics were covered under each unit. Thanks!

I am not sure what your state's units are but I am in Georgia so it pretty much follows those units, which are pretty much aligned to the Common Core Units. For instance Unit 1 is NBT1, NBT2, NBT3, MD3 and MD4.

Last year our curriculum still included long division in 3rd grade. Without this unit, my students would not have been successful. It ensured that they had a fundamental base knowledge of division that was vital to their success.

I am quite certain I could, and that is a fabulous idea. I would have to go back and group them. As soon as I catch up on all of my new Common Core PowerPoints for third grade, I am also planning on branching out into other grades. What would you like to see bundle together? Would love to hear your ideas.

It will definitely help when she gets into the 6,7,8,9. The Commutative Property is the key. It is crazy that they can tell you what 4 x 9 is but have trouble with 9 x 4. You also might want to check out my Whiz Quizzes and Mystery of Multiplication or the PPT The Meaning of Multiplication. Understanding the meanin of multiplication will make all of the difference.

As I am walking around monitoring I observe, and I also allow the kids to keep track. When competing in partners and groups they do pretty well at keeping each other honest. I also use other review assessments to let me know. But most of the time by this point everyone has mastered the concepts and this is just used as a fun review.

Hi!! I purchased the Popping Properties and really LOVE it! I am going to use the booklet and matching game in my Math centers this week. Later, I want to use the Distributive Worksheet, but for some strange reason when I printed this sheet and the answer sheet that goes with it, the popcorn pieces on the right are all BLACK (not like it shows the matching equation on the screen). Can you tell me what I am doing wrong or how I can fix that? Thanks, Kaylie

I am going to look at it right now. What version of Office do you have? And which slides are you having issues with?

I think the problem is that I created the PowerPoint in Office 2010, so there are animations and such that 2007 does not have. I can't even see where it is messed up to fix it, because every computer I have has Office 2010 on it.

I am researching to see if there is an easy solution that I am just not seeing. I will get back to you soon. I am so sorry!

Added 10:20 on 11/26/2012
I have researched somethings. One said that you may need to update your Windows/Office 2007. They have added somethings to the update to make it more compatible.
Here are directions on how to do it:
http://www.presentermedia.com/blog/2010/07/animated-templates-powerpoint-2007/

The other thing it said to do was to download the compatibility pack for 2007-2010. It said that it might could fix the problems too.

Everything I read said that this was a common problem when going through different versions of Office things. I have posted the PowerPoint on Authorstream and you might could play it directly from there to see how it is supposed to look.

I am at a loss right now, but I am not giving up! I just am finding it hard to fix it when I can't see it.

I really don't have a question, really I just want to say thank you! With the implementation of the common core, I feel as if I am barely treading water (even after 12 years of teaching). It has been helpful to me to use your materials instead of creating my own. And since we have a similar style, I feel right at home using your stuff. I would love to have your feedback on the product, so that others can see how wonderful you find it. Thank you again. There is more to come. Some of the stuff I already had went with the Common Core and the others I am creating as I go. Look for more soon and be sure to check out the Powerpoint that goes with this one. There really isn't any way to stop that other than saving everything in a PDF format. However, I do not save any of my tests in PDF as I want teachers to be able to change them. I do ask the buyers to keep the copyright on each test page, but there is no way for me to know if they do or not.

I saw your store on the home page of Teachers Pay Teachers; so, I thought I would look at your freebie. I left you a rating. Well done!

I have a couple of suggestions that might help you to better market this product. You might also add a second page/slide which is a directions or suggestions page. List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product. Use the footer to put the copyright symbol, your name and date of creation on EVERY page/slide. Items, especially free ones, have been "stolen" from TPT and posted on other sites to be sold. You have to protect all of your creations. Also number your slides.

I teach rememdial math on the college level. Right now, I really don't have a math freebie, but I do have a word search for April. If you have time, I’d appreciate your input.
