Hi Venessa,
I had a look at the preview of Derivatives Test but its not clear and most of it is blur!
Also the thumbnails were not showing up.
If you are copying from worh and pasting into paint or photoshop, some fonts will not show up.
It would be better to use pdf format for previews.
Just thought that you should know.

The preview file is viewable if you mouse over it to expand it. Because of the nature of the product, there is no downloadable preview. This is my best selling product and many people have provided great feedback and my students loved it. How it works is that I post the attendance question on the board. When I take roll, I call each students name and they provide a quick answer to the question. Some sample questions are: What is your favorite fast food restauarant... If money were no object, what type of car would you drive... that kind of thing. I hope that helps.

Hello: I just purchased you Algebra 1A Test (Graphing, Relations, and Functions). After downloading and printing, I've found that some of the test items are blocked out with larger type (looks like what you might have done for you preview sample). Anyway, I want to give this as a test next week and need to have the pages resent to me without the blocked-out items. Please get back to me to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Thank you, Carol Kirk
February 26, 2012
Vanessa Moon  (TpT Seller)
Hi Carol, this is an issue with math type, the equation editor that I used to create the test. A fix is to open each equation, and then close it. It just might be not 100% compatible with whatever equation editor you are using. Let me know if this works, if not, I can send you the test in pdf format.

tutorspree re: Algebra I Syllabus
Hi Vanessa - I love the material you've created. I'm one of the founders of Tutorspree, a marketplace for local tutoring designed to help amazing tutors find amazing students.

Our tutors keep asking for materials to bring with them to lessons, and for problem sets to give students between lessons. I just downloaded your review of AB Calc (is it supposed to be more than three pages? I'm only getting the first chapter), and it is awesome. Would you be interested in letting us post even more of your content so that the world knows how great it is? We'll take care of making it look great on the internet and all, and we’re going to have a lot of people looking at it. Once they’re hooked we can send them right back to TeachersPayTeachers for a nice downloadable version.

Please let me know, and let me know if you want to chat further on the phone.

Thanks so much, and hope you're having a great week.

mak8946 re: Algebra Project (End of Year)
1. Can students do this (fairly) independently, I'm leaving for maternity leave and need something the kids can work on during a free period they have a couple times a week. They will have a math teacher supervising them.
2. How long does it typically take to complete? I need to know how many more activites I need to find.

Looks like a great idea :-)
April 15, 2010
Vanessa Moon  (TpT Seller)
This activity is absolutely student driven, and since there is a math teacher supervising, he/she can answer content related questions that come up. To be honest, it wouldn't really even require a math teacher to do the math involved in the project. I hope that helps.

Can I get a clean version of this exam. I've paid for it but it has big characters "C" and "h" all over it. It's not readable in may problems.
January 5, 2010

BeagleSqueezer9 re: 85 Attendance Questions
Aah, I see your earlier response to the same question. For the preview, you should include a subset of the material (say, 5-10 lines), not shrink the whole document down to unreadable size. Seeing that the document indeed contains 3 pages of (unknown) items does not inspire me to buy it. Jim

Thank you for the advice, I will look into creating a new preview for that item.

Teresia Kolacek re: Expectations in Algebra 2 Jeopardy
Love the main ideas of the ppt! But how do you get from the answer slide back to the Jeopardy board. Right now when I click it just goes from one question to the next. Is there something 'embedded' in the slide? Thanks
August 12, 2009
Vanessa Moon  (TpT Seller)
Teresia, I am glad that you liked the PP. Now, when you are viewing the slide show and you are in a question. Don't click the question again or it will preview the next question (as you have discovered) At the bottom left hand corner you should see 4 faint buttons. I think it is the 3rd one in. Looks like a square. Click it and it will let you choose what slide to go to next. The main slide with ALL questions is the first one. I hope this helps.

I have reduced the size of my documents for the free previews, so as not to give away the content. The purpose of the free preview is to show you the size of the document and a glimpse as to how it will appear when you download the full version. If you have questions about a specific product, I would be happy to answer that for you. Please let me know.

July 30, 2009
Vanessa Moon  (TpT Seller)
I will send you a copy of the materials to the email you have provided. I am sorry that you have had this trouble. I am really not sure why you only had chapter one. Also, if you view it and the integral symbols are big "g"s or other letters, download a trial version of mathtype and reopen the document. That will get rid of them. Sometimes, I have to click on each equation and close it again to get rid of them. Technology is a fickle thing.

utcmoc133 re: Algebra 2 Unit Plan "Tools of Algebra" Prentice Hall
how many lessons are included in the bundle and do you have any more bundles...im looking for 10-15, prefereably a unit plan of 3 weeks
December 7, 2008
Vanessa Moon  (TpT Seller)
This is a unit plan for 24 days. In my district, we use the learning focused strategies to aid in our planning. One "lesson" may take place over the course of several days. For instance, I spent 9 classroom days on solving linear equations. In that time, I supplemented my written lesson plans with many materials that were available to me at my school. I use the Prentice Hall series, so that was where a lot of my additional resources came from. My intention with this bundle was to collect all of the materials that I created and used during the course of chapter one and offer them to anyone interested. Since I have not had anyone purchase it yet, I will offer it to you for \$2.50. What I would ask in return is that if you like it, that you write some comments about how it worked for you. If this interests you, let me know and I will reset the price so that you can make a purchase. This is my first bundle, and planned to make more, but did not see that there was an interest until now.

I am new to TPT. I bought some of your calculus items and am impressed with the quality of your work. I would like to post more of my things, but I worry about the symbols used for math. I use MathType and Equation Editor and Word 2003. Should I convert everything to PDF format first so that the symbols are maintained on download? I would hate to post something and have it come out as gobblety-gook!

Vanessa,
Today was my first time visiting this site. I was pleased to see you are from Spring Hill (my home town), which is not too well known. I grew up in Spring Hill but I now teach in Cleveland, Ohio. I'm sure you teach at my Alma Mater. I was impressed by your Limits Graphic Organizer. As a teacher, I get frustrated since there isn't a lot out there for upper level math. There are a lot of good ideas on this site. Thanks for sharing your ideas and have fun in Spring Hill.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am in my sixth year of teaching. My certification is in Math grades 7-12. I began teaching in an IB/Magnet High School in Rochester, NY where I taught Precalculus, Computer Programming, and Math A. After 2 successful years, my family moved to Florida where we could enjoy the sunshine year round. For the past 4 years, I have been teaching in a suburban High School in Florida. In addition to teaching Geometry, Algebra, and AP Calculus AB, I co-chair the math department. I am currently working on my National Board Certification.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Currently, I am teaching 3 very different levels of students. In my calculus class, I have typed "fill in" notes that we complete daily. There is a significant homework assignment given each day, and we supplement using the D&S Marketing Book, and George Best's spiral review book. Our primary text book is Larson 7th edition. In my geometry class, I give the students notes on the overhead. Then we complete a review of the lesson worksheet together. There is daily homework. We also have journals to record our thoughts about what we have been reading. We use the Prentice Hall Florida Geometry series. In Algebra IB, my students are low functioning and math is not really their thing. Most of my class is either ESE or ESOL. We move much slower in this class. I use a lot of graphic organizers. We do a topic about every three days, with lots of practice in between. In this class, we use the Glencoe Algebra 1 text.
