I have taught all grade levels at Waterford High School, and entry-level English at Modesto Junior College. I also taught English 100 at Humboldt State University during my graduate studies. Currently, I teach sophomore English.
I like to think of my approach as skills-based, student centered, with components of direct instruction. I want to incorporate more workshops on writing and more discussion seminars. I want to inspire students to find reading they enjoy, and I want to empower them to revise their writing so they can be proud of their work.
Yet to be added
I have a single-subject credential in English from Chapman University and a Master's in English with an emphasis in Teaching Writing from Humboldt State University. I also have a BA in Psychology from Humboldt.
I love painting and playing basketball, so I would like to incorporate art and sports into my curriculum somehow.
