I am so sorry the PowerPoint did not work properly for you. I have gone back over it and checked it on my computer at school and it worked properly. It is saved as PowerPoint Presentation - so I'm wondering if you have a different version of Ppt on your computer? I can save it as -97, or a 2003 version and send it attached to an email if you like. It is not a problem. I hate to see you not be able to use the Ppt.

Hi Kathy. I'm so sorry you are having trouble. The phenolphthalein I use disappears on the paper. It takes awhile for it to dry - I make them up the day before. It leaves a slight puckering on the paper and if you bend and 'age' the paper a little the puckering blends in and is not noticeable. I have to apologize for the Exlax idea - I used that early in my career and have since used straight phenolphthalein from a science supplier. I learned today, after your question, that Exlax no longer contains phenolphthalein. I will take that suggestion out of the product. Here is an alternative: make some cabbage juice indicator by boiling red cabbage and collecting the dark blue juice. You can write a spooky message using vinegar or stronger acid on a piece of paper, let it dry, then spray it with the cabbage juice and the message will appear pink. I've tried it the other way too, like drawing a house or stick figure with the cabbage juice, and then spraying it with vinegar and the blue house turns pink. Another way to use the cabbage juice is this: have 3-5 clear plastic glasses, half-way filled with a clear liquid - one contains pure vinegar, one diluted vinegar, one pure water, one dilute baking soda solution and the last one strong baking soda solution (in water). Take the cabbage juice (have it in a flask or cool container), say a few magic words, and add some cabbage juice to each cup, down the line. The acids will turn shades of red and pink, and the bases will turn blues and greens. I hope this helps. But, again, the pure phenolphthalein is a clear liquid and dries clear on the paper for me. Let me know if I can do anything else to help. If you feel you want a refund, please ask. I want you to be happy.

Can I get a refund on this item? I bought it because you advertised grocery store items and thought it would be pretty easy to use. We aren't allowed to use dry ice at our school, and the modified cord isn't exactly grocery-store materials. The labs are not what I thought they would be.

Hi Brenda. The best thing to do would be download the powerpoint onto a flash drive (thumb drive, removable disk - USB) and take it to school, and open it on your school computer, then you can save it there, and use it at will. Another option would be to save the powerpoint as a file on your home computer, then send yourself an email to school and attach the powerpoint. At school, you should be able to open the attachment, save it as a file and you'll have it to use it when you want to. I hope this helps.

I have a couple of suggestions that might help you to better market this product. First, create a cover page which can then be used as an attractive thumbnail to entice buyers. You might also add a second page which is a directions or a suggestion page. List several ways you use this in your classroom - Homework? Open book test? Partner acitivity? Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product.

If it doesn't work, I'll pull it until I get it fixed. You may download a blank periodic table on the Internet by googling it. Then I just photocopied the instructions and gave each student a blank perioic table to color. Sorry for the trouble.

I have logged twenty-eight wonderful years in public education teaching various science subjects from grades 6 through 12. I currently teach at an alternative school for at-risk youth and teen moms. It's a great place to teach - classes are small and we can really get to know our students. I get to be a facilitator and do a lot of up-close and personal teaching. This is why I became a teacher! I love what I do! I love to share lessons and see what others are doing in the classroom. That's why I love TpT. It has expanded my knowledge base and reenergized my career!

I am a facilitator. I work one-on-one with the students because each of our students have an individualized plan. We tailor the curriculum to meet their unique needs. My philosophy is: find their strengths and build on them; find their weaknesses and strengthen them. I am so proud to be a teacher.
