My students will be taking our state standardized tests on Tuesday and I already know they will do well. I just changed the preview to Test Prep Tournaments For Any Grade and Any Subject. Although the pages are really small, you will now be able to see all 72 pages. This will hopefully give you an idea of what you will be receiving if you decide to purchase the 12 tournaments.
Whether you teach in California or Ohio, you will be able to use the tournaments since you will be using your content specific standards for your state. I am just providing you with the 12 tournaments to help your students review for your state standardized tests, district mandated tests, or classroom tests. For example, I am able to download via the Internet the past tests which are no longer being used from our California Standards Test so that I may use these questions during my tournaments.
Science students may work together in teams to balance equations using sample questions from your textbook. The skills will be reinforced during the Math Field Day Fast or Slow Tournament, Point and Raise Your Hand, or Three Teams at the Chalkboard. Elementary Students may review sight words, spelling words, or multiplication tables using the Tic-Tac-Toe or Baseball game boards.
The best part about these tournaments is that they work! In 2009, my students took the California Standards Test. When comparing my students' California Standards Test scores with me and how they had done the year before, one student went from Far Below Basic in second grade to Below Basic to Basic to Proficient with me in third grade and went up three levels. Three of my students went up two levels. Nine of my students went up one level. Three students stayed in their same level from second grade to third grade (one student was Proficient and stayed Proficient two students were Advanced and stayed Advanced.) The final student in my class last year did not have a second grade test score, but scored Advanced in my class. I receive similar test scores each year.

I just changed the preview to Test Prep Tournaments For Any Grade and Any Subject. Although the pages are really small, you will now be able to see all 72 pages. This will hopefully give you an idea of what you will be receiving if you decide to purchase the 12 tournaments.
Whether you teach in California or Ohio, you will be able to use the tournaments since you will be using your content specific standards for your state. I am just providing you with the 12 tournaments to help your students review for your state standardized tests, district mandated tests, or classroom tests. For example, I am able to download via the Internet the past tests which are no longer being used from our California Standards Test so that I may use these questions during my tournaments.
Science students may work together in teams to balance equations using sample questions from your textbook. The skills will be reinforced during the Math Field Day Fast or Slow Tournament, Point and Raise Your Hand, or Three Teams at the Chalkboard. Elementary Students may review sight words, spelling words, or multiplication tables using the Tic-Tac-Toe or Baseball game boards.
The best part about these tournaments is that they work! In 2009, my students took the California Standards Test. When comparing my students' California Standards Test scores with me and how they had done the year before, one student went from Far Below Basic in second grade to Below Basic to Basic to Proficient with me in third grade and went up three levels. Three of my students went up two levels. Nine of my students went up one level. Three students stayed in their same level from second grade to third grade (one student was Proficient and stayed Proficient two students were Advanced and stayed Advanced.) There are some multi-step word problems, but the majority of the word problems are one step addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division word problems. They are the same 200 word problems that you will find in my less expensive product, "Word Problem of the Day - 200 Word Problems & Charts." http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Word-Problem-of-the-Day-200-Word-Problems-Charts
The difference between the two products is that one has just a list of the problems and answers and the other one is in ready-to-use chart form.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I received the Crystal Apple Award from N.B.C. News. The "Excellence in Teaching" Award was given to me by the Los Angeles Unified School District's Los Angeles Educational Partnership. My Math Team won the first place trophy four times in the Los Angeles Unified School District's Math Tournament. I am most proud of my after school Accelerated Reader Program in which Huntington Drive students have read thousands of books each year. In 2000, I became a National Board Certified Teacher by receiving a scaled score of 386 points (teachers needed a scaled score or 275 points to become certified.) I renewed my certification in 2009. I have been a teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District since 1982.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I have the highest expectations for all of my students. I scaffold each skill in the smallest steps so that even my lowest students can understand the concept. At the same time, I always teach above grade level standards to keep my students motivated and challenged.
