I have been teaching American History, Economics, and other historical electives including Historical Film and Historical Figures in South Central PA for the past 8 years. I just starting adding material in October, 2007, so it will take a while for all my updates.
I try to keep students active in the classroom by completing reading guides, maps, video guides, projects, timeline notes and film critiques. Students take notes on the timeline notes and I give them a timeline note quiz midway and at the end of the course which makes them accountable for the notes. Also, I give a video guide exam midway and at the end in which they can use their video guides. I use The Century series a lot in the first part of the 20th Century American History, then I use more drama based films like the 60s and 70s series. For the reading guides, I have created 40 section reading guides for the 12 chapters I teach. The students must read the text and answer the questions while they are reading. I use this for both class work and homework grades. I use the text Creating America 1877-Present which is a teal colored book.

I enjoy coaching and playing baseball, watching historical movies, and working out. I am recently married and have a young son. Hopefully, the money I get from this site will go for buying more school materials and providing for my son. I am basically charging $1.00 per page for each item unless it is something that could be used repeatedly such as my biography project rubric. I will try to put the most recent changes on the page to any materials I am using. You will need a copy of the film for each of the video guides and I tried to keep the questions in order that they appear in the movie. Thank you for using this page and best of luck in your educational careers.
